When did he have a deal to let him go to Chelsea ????
Not selling him to chelsea was the right decision.
no one even knows if there was a gentlemans agreement and no way was he ever going to sell our best player to Chelsea
there's no other reason why he would call chelsea a bigger club imo.

He is going to try and save you every pound he can
========================
you dont need to agree a deal and then back out of it to do that though.
Weare It's possible that he agreed to let him go if a suitable offer came in
Great move by Levy if he did say that .....After all what the hell is a suitable offer ???

Agree with that to a degree, we need to spend some money to keep a team good enough to challenge top 4 and get more money
Not spending in the last 2 yrs has really cost us being in the champions league so not really saved us any money, in fact its prob cost us money
Why is he dividing opinions? Not for the first time he leaves things as late as possible, leaving the manager with next to no chance of a good start to the season, and not even getting more money for it. He sacks a manager for finishing 4th in the league. He doesn't even allow the manager to make signings.
The bloke should allow footballing issues to be decided by footballing people. If he had let Modric go 4 weeks ago, you'd have a fit and fighting squad already.
If you miss out on the CL by 3 points, he can only have himself to blame.
-----------------------
Apart from the fact that Harry stupidly engineered his own sacking, I can't argue with much of this
Greatteams has also made some very good posts on here today that I've seen
Still, I am trying to keep the faith, and just hope and pray AVB doesn't become the fall guy for the way Levy operates (I'm not really complaining too much about it as I understand the 'why' I just don't want AVB to take the blame).
Moutinho and Lloris in tomorrow and I'll be ecstatic

I've been talking to you on both 606's for years and years and that's the best comment you've ever made
After all what the hell is a suitable offer ???

and what is a bigger club ?
i can kind of see that argument. maybe it was modric's fault for not being specific enough about what the agreement was when it was made.
i still suspect though that the spirit of the agreement was probably understood by both parties and that levy did the dirty on it.
no proof atall, but that's what i reckon.
whilst i personally consider that bad practise, i dont dislike it as much as i do reaching an expressly defined agreement and then reneging on it, as has now been alleged twice this summer.

agree with that.
ive got no issues with Levy on the harry sacking btw. dont think he had a choice personally.
We got Carlise away in the League Cup
Levy is tighter than a Nuns <Growler>,and does wind me up the way he does his dealings.
But I do respect the way he runs the club.
That's a long bloody trip!
