Sigh, im not normally this flippant, but come on. We are nothing but a cash cow, no ambition, whilst everyone strengthens we stay still. Our squad is very thin and we face another struggle for top 4. I just want us too see some sign of improvement is that too much.
You're right, OP, there are definitely no players available that could improve upon what we already have at the club.
Thank goodness we successfully kept all our top players this summer for a change, otherwise I'm not sure what we'd have done.
100% Mert always talking sense
save yourself the heart ache Ars-Bandeet
The lack of ambition at our club is sickening, and after last season when Wenger himself declared 'you can't sell Cesc and Nasri and claim to be a big club'
That comment said it all, im already dreading thinking about who we'll sell next summer
Terrible article. What we need to be doing right now is preparing the pitchforks and torches for tonight
Nah, can't be bothered with anything as radical as that, Dave.
I'm just gonna watch Stan silently running the club into the ground for a couple more seasons, then hopefully he'll sell it to someone who gives a shiiit about it.
Shame Arsene will be gone by then, but there you go.

yh, i know its sad now, im all for self-sustainability but its gone beyond excessive, i mean what other club sells their best assets when we are not desperate for the money. I mean we nearly forced theo out for a measly 12 million which we wouldn't reinvest. There is no need to make such large profits, and i thought us being proactive this summer signalled a change. Seriously has their even been a case of an owner taking over the club and investing absolutely nothing?
Cheers 8bit
Lex, I'm concerned as well, we haven't managed to find the right balance between prudence and spending. But if we keep our first choice back 4, or at least Shinagna and Kos, fit then we still have a strong line-up. I still think we might have something up our sleeve too.
Yeah I'm fine, TBOK.
Just woken up for the optimistic reverie of two weeks ago.
Going out shortly.
Enjoy the rest of transfer deadline day folks.
Whatever happens happens lads, nothing we do or say will change that. Just try and enjoy the actual football.

Can't see it happening myself, surely we would have heard something by now

A lot can happen still and we are the kind of club to keep things very quiet. I reckon we'll bring in at least one.
I really admire some of the optimism from you guys, but there's no point fooling ourselves!
The irony is its more likely that we'll sell another key player rather than reinforce the squad.
Its both baffling and depressing
Why are they doing this to us???

Well heres too hoping, if anyone comes in it will be a bonus i guess
Sadly the direction the club is now taking is not one of ambition. Gazidis told us that the ticket price increases would have a direct influence in strengthening the squad.
This has proven to be (like many other promises) false.
While it is good to see some of the deadwood (or a part of their salary) being moved on, I feel that the lack of depth in our squad will be exposed again this season.
Following the surplus on playing trading last year, the Queensland development cash (estimated £30m) and this year’s surplus there is ample amounts of money available to strengthen, or at worst replace.
Hard to be optimistic about the club’s future under the current regime.
Anyone up for a kick about?

Yeah I definitely would be if I hadn't got other plans.
