Yeah but he wanted out remember?
@johnnylosangeles, he wanted to go back home, whats wrong with that? Unlike half of Man City`s squad, he was no mercenary!
Biggest loss to our club since selling Rio Ferdinand.
Who told us he wanted to leave? Was it him or the club?
Bates lining up his pockets that's all it was
= irony!
Bates-poopaganda but many here bought it.
I thought MadMax was a top man!

Gradel. But I'm sure that won't change anyone's opinion.

Just goes to show Jonny just how much of a wakner hates really is!! Such a deceptive twàt!
Sol, do you really believe everything you read in isolation? What was the setting/circumstances in which he was quoted?
For a complete story, try searching back over the preceding 12 months for waht Gradel said on more than one occassion.
If he was so quick and eager to move on, why send the tweet earlier today, amongst other similar communications from him over the past 12 months?
I thought the reason was family?..
Well, odd he's tweeting today if he has don't we think?..
I'm sure there's a shirt somewhere that one of our bruvs have left laying around, get it on Max!.
Its alright all, I'm fine, just trying to cheer myselfe up, now I feel more depressed!.
I'll tell you what though, one hell of a way for the newbies to sign on!.
It seems odd to me that he went from making a statement that he didn't want to leave to requesting a transfer within a month.
It's a shame he wanted to leave as he was the most exciting player who has played for us since the Premier League. If he still loves the club perhaps we can entice him back if we go up
Not a hard choice for Gradel to want to move to develop his career when if you cast your mind back he was hoping for a new contract at Leeds and they never put one to him.
Home is surely Ivory Coast, not France.
He was brought up in France Jonty. Speaks French too.
He was brought up in France which is the former mother colony to his native land ivory coast. Check the facts please!
Would love Max back - great player for us but sadly, our crazy contracts policy only had him tied to a 2.5 year deal.
Baffling but oh so atypical of LUFC under the guidance of the cretin that is Shaun Harvey.
Did I mention brought up?
He was born in the ivory coast.
No but I was stating he wanted to go back to a familiar place.
"... the cretin that is Shaun Harvey."
You know him well then, do you?
Why does anyone expect the people who work for Ken Bates to shine? It is not possible.

Jonty, home is where you make it surely. If he was raised most of his young life in France, he would class that as home:
I was born in Leeds but my parents moved to Grimsby when I was 5, I moved down south at 27. I class Grimsby as home not Leeds, because I grew up there.
Scarf, youre right in your first point, but do you know what age he left Ivory Coast?
Do you know what age he actually came to England?
My point is the returning 'home' to France bit was propaganda from bates.
The club wanted to cash in on a saleable asset hence not offering him a contract and then we hear the usual excuses about player wanting away.
Not a clue why he left, don't know a lot about it tbh only something to do with his siblings, might be bo77ocks who knows but I think bates puts spin on everything he does it's water off a ducks back now to us all.
Gradel best player we had for ages shame we sold him. Would be nice to think it was family reasons, but was probably for bates' new speed boat
Spot on with the last bit
