GB,you should know very well that this is an invitation to the wums...theres still time to change this article..what do u say?
---
I say p!ss off wums, Liverpool = 18/5 > your wummish team!
Being honest i think you'll do well to get top 4 as like you say you have depth but you lack the class of the sides already in the top 4. All the best for the season and thanks for the £35m (not that we'll see it!)

I wouldn't say that at all. If you look at United, for example, player for player we are of similar quality. It's just that Fergie has got them playing as a team so well, and this is what Dalglish needs to do for us. Make the players feel like they are giants. We have good enough players, we just need to make a good enough team.
PS_ How many have ACTUALLY read the full article??
I haven't read it all but my answer is maybe on how well we did towards end of last season. BUT I am not willing to accept we are "challengers". For every reason you could give why we may do well all of the top four can give as good/ better/ not far off the same reasons. Let's aim top 4 and be happy with anything better.

Any of the top six could win it. I think its going to be really tight and Liverpool will definately be in the mix. One game at a time.

Liverpool fans are still the most deluded.
We've got a great chance. The options in midfield are unbelievable! I juts hope and pray it all gels. This is the most exciting pre-season I can remember (and I've been around a long. long time.....)!
I think we're a season off from challenging properly for the title, not due to ability or the squad but because of the mental attitude. It is going to take time to wash away the years of defensive, safety first, try to avoid defeat attitude of Rafa and Roy. Kenny has only really had 4-5 months with the players so far with new ones coming in too.
Back on the old 606 I had my favourite match listed as the 9-0 demolition of Crystal Palace which was under Kenny. Not for any great moments of skill or great goals but because of the attitude of the players who even at 3 or 4 goals up, never sat back and coasted the rest of the game, they were always looking for more.
How many times in the past have we gone a goal up and sat back and tried to defend it? That new attitude will take time to be drilled into the players, but if anyone can do it, Kenny can.
you guys laughing are being childish. at the end of the day this is his opinion and although it seems very unlikely GB has justified it in sheer scrutiny

I would be absolutely delighted with 4th, but if the truth be known I'm certainly not expecting it. We will improve and hopefully compete for 4th but whether we can do it with new players, I'm unsure.
I expect City to be stronger this year. Manu have a new keeper who is very young and Slur Alex has a patchy record at signing keepers. Chelsea have some major restructuring to do imo. The core of their team are starting to age. Arsenal could lose two of their best players and Spurs could lose their best player and need more firepower.
It's going to be tough, but if our new signings settle and with a bit of good fortune we could grab 4th. Anything else would be a massive bonus.
Your delusion has no bounds.

Look at the results against the big teams last season:
3 points off Utd
6 points off Chelsea
2 points off Arsenal
3 points off City
0 points off Spurs
With the exception of Spurs who we bottled it against twice (big thanks to Konchesky and Skrtel for the first game), we were a match for all of the top 6 last season. What let us down was our form against the rest of the league and the lack of a "plan B".
With the signings we made, we now have a very clear plan B, maybe a plan C and if we make a couple more signings, a D as well.
Our lack of Europe, while frustrating as fans and difficult for our ambitions in the transfer market means we may have a real advantage over some of our peers. Whether or not we're in Europe, a quick glance at our squad suggest we're much more capable of a sustained challenge than we were last season.
The other teams will strengthen though, City will spend, Utd have bought very well in my opinion but their midfield is still weak, Arsenal seem to be imploding but you can never write Wenger off, Chelsea's manager looks the business and if HArry can sort out Luka and buy a striker then they'll be very strong as well.
All in all, I can't see much difference between any of the squads in the top 6, which means it comes down to the manager and what they can get out their team.
For this reason Utd will be there or thereabouts (Fergie's sheer force of will), City may struggle (don't think much of Mancini), Arsenal may struggle (Wenger's ideals blocking the obvious problems), Spurs are dependant on Harry's transfers this summer, and I'd say for us and Chelsea it's too early to call.
In my opinion I don't think there's many managers as well equipped as Kenny to take on Fergie and I can't wait because it's going to be an incredibly tight season, but make no mistake, we will be challenging.
