I never wanted Harry sacked, but I felt even before his final outbursts and behaviour that he left Levy (particularly as we all know what he is like) no choice.
Now, he has chosen his man, failed to back him in the proper way in the window imho (by doing blatantly obvious business early) and we all know that this is a manager that the press and some supporters (a vast minority I think) had the knives out for from the word go.
Oh well, let's see eh? Only three games in, no need to panic, and AVB will make sure he works damned hard on the training pitch this week (with some players, who thanks again to Levy, have barely had time to work out which club they're at most probably)
Ade and Dembele to start next week for me, Siggs not to come off (unless he's carrying a knock we don't know about), and either more effort from Bale and Lennon or for them to be found more cunningly.
Oh, and Sandro to be told he is no longer with Brazil, so not to rely on the likes of Neymar to make things happen, and him never to start with Livermore again
It beggars belief that you think Harry 'fecked' up the last 2 seasons.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry did mess up last season particularly last season.
We were the 3rd best team in the league but finished 4th, like it or not thats a feck up.
He also had to much to say in the media time and time again and started to think he was bigger than the club. Like it or not it was time for him to go so harping back on that wont help.
Yes he gave us some good times but when its over its over so get over it.
Having said all that I would have hoped for a far better replacement than AVB
Harry did mess up last season particularly last season.

How can anyone dispute this ?

your deluded if you think 1 win in ten games and costing us 3rd because his head was turned was success
how the feck was it a golden time
we won feck all
i will tell you a golden time .. 1981 to 1984
won 3 trophys
get your head out of HARRYS AR-SE SUNSHINE
Well so far we have watched 3 games, we have not played well in any of them.
=======================
played well first half in the newcaslte and west brom games.
brad and gallas has saved us from it being worse imo.
livermore and sandro were very good at newcastle, rubbish today.
grandspurs
and you think being in 3rd or 4th is our right in the first place? We did amazingly well to be sitting in that position. I think a lot of spurs fans have forgotten those dark years we had finishing 11th virtually every year. We've never finished 3rd before, why on earth would we have a divine right to keep it, despite a 10pt lead.

imsick of this arguement that we used to finish 11th so we should be thankful for 4th
Tottenham are a massive club and i want us winning the odd trophy or two for starters
even ramos managed that
Fridgeboy
Its not "where" you finish its where you SHOULD finish that matters in football.
If you are good enough to beat a side 3-0 then winning 1-0 is not good enough. If you are 13 points clear from the team below you in the league with a better overall team then when they finish above you its not good enough even if its in 4th place.
If you bought a new car capable of 200 mph and it would only do 100 mph would you accept that ?
No of course you would not and neither should we be happy at throwing away a 13 point lead, which is what Harry did.
The rewards are fantastic in modern day football and I know people on 15 grand a year that would not hold on to their jobs if they fecked up to badly so why should it be any different for people that are on 4/5 mill a year just because they are football managers ?
Well you might be sick of it mate but it's a fact.
how long's thuddledick out for now ?
We know Harry has to take responsibility for the monumental c ock up last season, but what about the late signings at the start of the season, the failure to get Cahill, the poor signings in January - Saha and Nelson? Sure Arry must have decided on them, though was that because he was pressured into such weak signings due to a lack of organisation on Levy's part? No question that Levy has interfered with matters as far as the transfer windows go.
Levy was as much to blame as Harry.
im off before i get in trouble
well done kent ........
Well regardless of how badly we all feel at the moment we are not in a position to change any of it anyway.
We are stuck with AVB and we are stuck with Levy but the heady days of last season are definitely history IMO because we wont be dreaming of CL this season going by what we have seen so far.

and for the record I do not blame our transfer policy for the results so far this season.
Yes to compete with the likes of city and utd we needed to spend big but I honestly believe we should be beating teams like west brom and Norwich at our place without spending anything and so far both of them have made us look very average indeed.
noone's listening anymore GS.

For starters, that 13 point lead you speak of is a mis-truth anyway. It may have been 13 points but Arsenal had a game in hand. Secondly, you talk of football like it's a machine, like the 'on paper' theory. Things never go perfectly, everyone has blips, it's human error. But the one thing that no one seems to mention is how we got to 3rd in the first place. The focus is always on losing rather than winning. Where's Harry's credit for getting there? I've not heard many give him any.
He finished 8th, 4th, 5th, 4th. I don't care what anyone says, that's progress. It's progress that should count here nothing else. He was making it, the club was making it and now it's been torn apart.

I wont argue with his record and I wont argue with some of the exciting times either but there were also bad times.
Losing at the library last season after holding a 2-0 lead ?
Getting knocked out of a cup semi against a side that ended up getting relegated ?
I was 100% in favour of Harry's appointment but also thought it was time for him to go. When he started it was about THFC (some of the time) after 4 years it was 100% about Harry with THFC coming a very poor second.
Sorry but that was not good enough in my eyes
By that i assume you mean the England job. The one job in the world that would turn his head. Footballers aren't totally loyal and managers aren't that different. We should have focused on why there was a clamour for him to get the England job. It's because he'd turned us around dramatically. Loyalty should be rewarded and so should success. He was very successful, there's no doubting that. Rememer the home game against Newcastle last year, it sent a shiver down my spine listening to the fans singing 'we want you to stay'. That was the true love spurs had for him, the rest is clouded by the bitterness of his flirting with the England job. I just think it's best to look at the facts. Levy didn't. His ego got burned because Harry wanted the England job, so he sacked him. That for me is immature, short-sighted and not looking at things objectively. Now we're back to where we were 4 years ago. The cycle start with Ramos and Jol, it's happened again with Harry and AVB and it will keep happening all the time Levy is chairman. It might be time for him to part ways with the club rather than adopting this yo-yo mentality where progress is suffocated. The bottom line is G&S is right, he's the one to blame.
fridge
I wont argue on the cycle and think the sacking of Harry has set us back at least a year but thats only because of the appointment of AVB not because of the sacking of Harry.
Everybody on these boards said the same when Jol was sacked but we progressed despite that and we will again, you may think Harry was god I dont sorry.
