Good half considering the changes to the team and formation. Well done Mason.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah definitely.. loads have been calling for Royal to be tried at RCB.. looks to be working also bringing the best out of Porro at RWB. Dier gone and we look so much more assured at at CCB

Mason
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn’t really see it as a back 5, seemed more of a 4222 I thought
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It changes in and out of possession, the way it should instead of a constant flat 5, barring a long diagonal

It's an odd one. Son definitely isn't playing as a flat left mid - he's more advanced most of the time - but Royal is frequently tucking into a back 3 too. Been 442/424 and 343 at various points

Defensively definitely a back 4 though. It is a bit staggered, agreed with Royal coming inside in possession which is nice.

The obvious weakness is the amount of times the deep midfielder to receive the ball (usually Skipp) isn’t particularly good at that

Almost similar to Nagelsmann’s approach to transitions

And dare I say Bentancur and Bissouma in MF and suddenly we would be looking like a different team
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Certainly a lot better than Hojberg and Skipp, but until Spurs sort that defence we are going nowhere. Need a top GK and 2 top CB’s minimum

Probably unneccesary semantics mind, but I consider a teams formation to represent how they are in defence more than in attack

Nah I disagree Edin the formation in attack is just as important. Knowing which space to step into up the pitch to cover the opposition counter, whilst continues to also support the attack

I didn't mean that it wasn't important. More that what we say the teams formation is usually in defensive shape or how they are set up from a goal kick.

Almost every team in attack (particularly in oppositions half) have 5 forwards, which you wouldnt really call a 325 or whatever

Roles more than starting positions innit. Son definitely playing a more attacking winger/inside forward time, whereas Emerson is definitely playing a defensive role where he tucks in. Nice to see a bit of fluidity for once - works to the attributes of Porro, Emerson much better

I think so. Yes a bit long, some tracks could have their runtime reduced. Title track, screaming suicide, Chasing light and too far gone are the initial stand out tracks imo

A few really good songs, bloated in the middle, terrible solos, horrible guitar tones, Het and Lars sound great. Overall a good album but some of the mid album bloat could've been massively reduced by cutting a couple of songs. Not as good as DM but I'd say I prefer it to Hardwired, just about
