We got away with that, Ange should have changed the team at half time but fair play still got the result
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Feels strange to say we got away with that when we had 70% possession and 28 shots to their 7. I can understand why Ange kept the team the same for as long as he did. We were always in the game with the players that started. You did kind of feel that Richy was going to do something though after the week he's had.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It will do wonders for his confidence, really happy for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ange said we'd help him out any way we could but I didn't realise it would be that immediate. Damn Ange is good!

So glad it ended with 3 points. Also a confidence boost for Richarlison. Sheffield were wasting time from the get go. They got what they deserved.

The Sheff Utd manager complaining about the referee!

It was defo a game we have all seen before all of the play pretty much, time wasting, the oppo nik a goal and we lose.

I am going to have to Learn not to give up so easily and be patient as this feels different from before and ange seems to have the start of something here. Yes early doors yet and it will take time, but so far so good…. League cup aside.

I guess it’s I’ve become so used to inevitable happening it’s second nature now… got to change that.

He hasn’t lost a home game with any of his teams since 2020. Albeit Celtic and Yokohama. Big Ange definitely has something about him! Winner!

A brief cameo of what Johnson can do also, although offside

I was getting a bit frustrated with Kulu until his goal. Glad he wasn't one of the ones taken off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same. I wouldn't have taken him off, but he smacked a fair few shots straight into someone. I could see Johnson taking his place in the next one. That finish when he was offside.. tasty
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I felt he could have done more when he got into those dangerous areas. Too many blocked crosses or cut backs not falling to anyone. I felt like Johnson could have come on for him but yeah I liked what I saw from Johnson. He'd probably have got a hat-trick against Burnley.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree. I just don't think he suits the RW spot in this system. Too slow to take on his man and way too weak going on the outside.

Reserving judgment on the Johnson signing but in theory he seems like a much better fit for that role. Need someone who will run at the full back directly, get behind and cut it back

To be fair, Sheff United were very well organised and were always going to be hard to break down. Today we faced an opposition that was going to make even some of our best players look rather ineffective. It did with Son. Even Kane could have played today and had a sort of quiet ineffectual game. But fair play to Kulu, he got a winner in the end, to go with his goal in the other recent game. This is his best form since he first came to the club where he was actually doing well on the wing, going past players and providing assists and goals.

I'd be willing to keep him on for the Arsenal game, in the hope he is slowly getting back to his best and today's game was just more a case of a tough defensive outfit.

Fair points

I do really like him as a player tbf, I just feel like there's a better use for him in Angeball than trying to mould him into a pure winger when he doesn't do that naturally

Can we take a moment for Richarlison? I know everyone hates him but a goal and assist in 3 minutes.. he deserves a lot of credit here

Definitely don't hate Richarlison. Don't think he's great, but he's not as bad as people make out. And yeah, credit where it's due today

He’s fine as the alternative/impact forward to a top
striker.

He’ll just never be a 20 goal a season striker

We all look at footballers differently and see different attributes.

I always look at touch and control as a benchmark of a player. That’s why I don’t rate Richy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was pretty nice control and touch in the box today
