Clean sheet......

So good to have 2 good CBs and a goalie.

Dier has done well yet again, so has Alli.

Lamela was much better.

Chadli and Kane are probably my picks for the worst peformers. Hopefully Kane will finally get a goal against Arsenal.

The addition of Aldy seems to be bringing the best out of Vert.

Kane looks knackered, he needs a fortnight off

thought that too, a good pairing at CBs

Solid defence that looks with Alderweireld. Never thought I would say that with a spurs defence

Don

I have been saying for years, get the defence right and the results will come, the 1-0 wins are just what Spurs needed. No more having to score 2 or 3 just to hopefully get a win.

Would give Dier the majority of the praise tbh

Last season we never had anyone in the cm position putting tackles in.

Sandy; me and you been going on about the horrible defence for years ain't we. So glad it looks like it's finally coming together.

Don

Before you get too excited about our defence remember we were playing Palace who started with a solitary player up front and 10 men behind the ball. Until our defence is tested lets not get too carried away.

There's no question our defence has improved over last season, even at this early stage. Conceded 6 fewer goals and looking more solid with Vertonghen becoming more like his old self. If we go on to concede more goals than last season at the end, I'll eat my own poo.

Palace aren't such a bad side either. This was a potential banana skin today, coming on the back of a midweek Europa game. In the past this may have been one of those smash and grab wins for the opposition like the 1-0 losses at home to Stoke or Wigan under Harry. We may still get them this season, but this was one that was avoided, so credit to us.

Palace are one the better away sides in the league. Won 8/10 under Pardew before yesterday

Not discrediting Palace at all but lets be fair they did not show much in the way of attack did they? They came for a 0-0 which was obvious from the first half.

What I am saying is that before we get all carried away with our new look defence lets see them face the likes of Aguero, Sanchez, Hazard etc before we rave about them.

Feet firmly on the ground here

Well I don't think I'm getting too carried away personally to say it's an improvement on last season, since our defence was so bad then. We concede less than last season then that will confirm it, and the signs are there already based on not just the Palace game. A few clean sheets, less goals conceded so far and with the back 4 looking settled and performing well.

I'm confident we'll concede less in the same amount of game.
