This is what I mean over the last few weeks saying I don’t get people sticking him on their get rid lists when actually - yes he can be frustrating at times - but he’s one of our more productive attackers with his running at defences and assists and goals. Numbers like those in his all round game only back up his value to us. The Bergwijn thing isn’t digging Berg out unnecessarily, it’s just an obvious comparison to make as they are two similar players and SB seems to get a free pass whereas Lucas, who for me offers a lot more, gets coated.

Lamela was always the one to get rid of out of those playing in that similar role. Lucas has at least provided a decent number of goals during his time here, which Lamela hasn't, and Lucas has had the bigger highs in terms of form.

That team needs to play and dominate the ball. If we can control the game then there will be less pressure on the defence.

I don’t disagree, but at the same time man for man the defenders as individuals are poor. I’d keep Reggy and Tanganga (possibly Rondon) and shift everyone else

That's the thing isn't it the squad isn't actually a disaster, weak areas are more midfield and defence still. Problem is for the balance of the squad some of the forward players may have to make way.

Lucas and Berg I agree. Lamela, hmmm I'm not sure a month or so of recent good form is enough to make up for 6-7 seasons of average injury-ridden form and one left foot.

Lamela surely has to be moved on this summer, his time here is done. Problem is he’s the type of sheitehousing player that Jose likes so I imagine if Jose stays, Lamela stays.

After the red in the NLD he might have changed his mind. He has labelled him chaotic so at least he acknowledges his cons without hanging him out to dry.
