All I'm saying is the pre-judging of players is tiresome. If Tonge has a shocker at Cardiff, then of course that changes things. But as a short term solution for injury problems then why wouldn't the manager go with the tried and trusted option rather than expensive (Jenas) or longer term (Danns) ones. And why would Leicester get rid of Danns to a championship rival? Tonge was as good as it could get at the moment on a short deal. Rile him and the manager after a couple of poor performances, but shouting about how poor he is before a ball has been kicked? Madness. And terribly poor support!
Not saying he's poor! Questions over his fitness, might be a tad rusty and starting him vs Cardiff is not a good idea IMO.

Sounds exactly like what Ken Bates would say.

Towton - You can't exactly say that any of his loan moves since have been successful either!!
If you are saying
Look we need him in the short term to play the anchor role
Then this signings makes no sense, one Austin can do that so we should have brought in someone more attack minded and two if you are push Austin forward then I just don't think that in the short term that he can play that role better than Pugh, who has done it before for this teqm under Warnock.
I know Pugh ain't a starter and is transfer listed, but he is still a better player and a better option than tonge
Surely I can't be the only one completely cheesed off by Warnock, who led us to our worst ever home defeat, and his abysmal signings.
We need to get rid.
Ovid, once again i will say 3-7 isn't our worst ever home defeat. 0-5 is a heavier defeat, the record is for most goals conceded.
Abysmal signings? To be honest i can't think of any. He has made a lot of average signings, but that is due to the lack of funds at the club, but he has signed some quality players such as Kenny, Peltier, Pearce and Austin.
NW has brought in a team of hard men plus Diouff. MT fits that hard man bill. We are doing OK. Should have beaten Blackburn. We will beat Cardiff - they were carp against hudders on opening sky match. Given the financial position we will do well this season
Team full of hard men
Who's hard apart from Austin and maybe pearce
So will be able to get in and do a job at very short notice rather than a better player who would take time to gel in with the team.
--------------
Are you sure you meant to say this?
I think signing someone like Tonge was always going to be on the cards. We're unable to sign real quality because there's a cost associated with that. We've got the better end of journeymen in under Warnock and given the financial restraints plus the takeover farce I believe he's done as well as can be expected.
I'm not a Warnock fan, his brand of football is alien to me and the run-in last season had "relegation form" written all over it.
However, we are where we are and he and the players are doing better than I expected. The squad is, as everyone is aware, paper thin and will be severely tested over the coming months.
Bates continued tenure of ER is damaging our future prospects and certainly all but removing the chance of promotion this season.
For a club with the level of support we generate and the passion therein, this is nothing short of a scandal.
It's about fitting the ingredients and he's in the Norris/Green mould which is what we want.
---------
NO, we want someone who can create now we have lost Snoddy!
SKB, sorry in future I will bow to your judgment that losing 7-3 at home to a team who hadn't scored in three matches is actually a great result. Yes, Warnock's signings have been brilliant haven't they? heaven helop us - Kenny is not a good signing, he is not a good keeper and he cost us money. The one and only potentially good signing Warnock has made is Austin and that's just on youtube-reputation because so far he looks distinctly average.
'Abysmal signings? To be honest i can't think of any.'
Four words SKB:
Andy Gray
Michael Tonge
both Barnsley rejects last season.
Is Brown a hard man? Not sure he's played that many games for any of us to form an opinion. He's usually out injured or suspended. In the case of the latter, he's a dirty player rather than a hard player IMO.
Stevie
I agree, there a big difference between a hard tough tackling player and one who gives cheap fouls away
The team currently and at the end of the transfer window is/was short in numbers and quality. That to me and as is pointed out constantly is due to a lack of funds and why the majority so desperately want Bates out.
Looking at the Michael Tonge signing, he wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for injuries. Similar to last season when Grayson loaned Pugh due to the left side player Gradel being sold on the last day of the transfer window. He's here to fill a gap created by our lack of funds to create a squad capable of going through the season without the need for loan signings.
Andy Gray is the 4th striker, behind Becchio, McCormack and Somma. It isn't Warnock's fault Somma is out injured, but unfortunately unlike at clubs such as Leicester who have strength in depth in each position e.g. striker: Beckford, Vardy, Nugent, Futacs and Waghorn, we have to settle for a far lower standard of player. Gray is replacing Paynter who contributed virtually nothing in his time at the club, and based on where he has ended up i would say he is a slight step up.
He's played for us 24 times Stevie,
Hard and dirty imo

Will we ever go through a season without an emergency loan?
I hate these short term loans. About 90% of them for us have been poor signings.
I actually don't see how Tonge is going to do a better job than Pugh would, what's the point? We have Thompson and Pugh, who can fill in for a little bit of time, there's no point bringing in another average player, whilst keeping two on the bench.
But he's Warnock's old mate - just like Gray and Kenny
Youngwhite that isn't brown in the last clip it's Varney.
Yeah just seen that - stupid arabs - who'd want them as owners
