its also not very well known that hodgson identified suarez and that was in the pipeline before kenny.

Utter bollox. In fact Rafa was making noise about him. Hodgson would not sign a flair player if his life depended on it.

'So Hodgson was right about Konchesky ?'

Err - he was a player bought to do a job in a team that wasn't playing well! That compaired with you saying we have bough a player without even BASIC football skills is insulting to our current managerial staff!

You're missing my point.

I don't doubt that footballers can improve. As a matter of fact I demand it but basic football ability should be there for all to see at this level.

This isn't schoolboy football, this is the top level and if Liverpool are signing goalkeepers that need to work on catching, midfielders who need to work on passing and strikers that need to work on shooting then maybe we need to re-think our transfer strategy.

The last thing I expected to hear from our 11 million pound striker is 'i need to train more on my shooting' - after a handful of games.

Any footballer should have ability at this level and Fabio hasn't impressed me with his yet. This isn't a question of time. Ability should be noticed quite quickly in my opinion.

------------------------------------

Apparrantly - our ideal player is local , tries hard, young and has no basic footballing ability

step forward Mr Carragher, Spearing, Flannagan

we also like players who constantly underperform to appear in the nex available edition of the Liverpool Echo talking up how well they are training or settling in

Tonight may be the night other reds see that we are slip sliding down a slippery slope, yet expect after probably getting knocked out of the Europa league and finsihing nearer the bottom half of the prem - we will attract big names

I wonder how many of those slating Borini (after 4 league games ) were slating Lucas for the first year or so?

Be A Grizzly

Most I'd bet - but they just don't learn! 'Hyppia?!! Why are we buying these rubbish unknowns?!!'

posted on 20/9/12

TVJ we don't need to attract big names there's loads of local talent who'll fight for the club. And they try hard.

Be A Grizzly...i have often spoke of my utter digust for the way young Lucas was treated..forget the fact he was playing for a team the other side of the world. he has always tried to play football.

other lads - sorry to repeat myself

Carra, Flanno, Spearing will run through a brick wall but i am struggling to recall a trophy ever being won for running through a brick wall

I find you irksome in the extreme and generally rather hypocritical.

No, our ideal player is a Messi type player, currently playing for Real/Barca etc, willing to drop wages and not play CL, young and able to score at least 30 goals in their first 3 games (even if they are a defender!)

No, what you need is a team with 11 flair player

Don't overreact or anything.

4 games into a season, with a new manager, a new way of playing, new players, a lot of youngsters coming through. Give it some time.

Robbing

you have seen me on here and you know what my views are

i love Liverpool FC

But i believe we should have players who can at least play basic football

yes we are going through a transitional period but any club in the world let alone Liverpool should always have goal scorers

sorry if i come accross as a but i am very frustrated with the club. i do appreciate that we are mopping up the mess from the previous regime but for 20 odd years we haven't won the league and it looks at least another 20 away

cheers
TVJ - a 606 heavyweight -and a all round nice guy

You don't across as a .

You do come across as someone who does not really understand the game though. At least someone who has not played to a decenmt level but I may be wrong.

My point is that you generally seem to point out problems or post comments that have a bit of needle about them but never any solutions or anything positive.

Often quite sarky I don't really appreciate your posts. Nothing personal.

606 heavyweight.

Calm down son, you're like 14.

TVJ - The thing is, whatever is happening, is happening. Being in a permanent state of negativity is not good for you. Cheer up and chill out!

Still think we are heading in the right direction, and that next year will be far better.

New Manager, New Coaches, New training regimes, New style of play, New players. How can it NOT take time?

Icraft ...it was a joke , glad to see you have a sense of humour - if in doubt revert to name calling

Be a Grizzly ...i am just a normal fan who has his opinion like everyone else, but i kid you not when i say i played semi pro and consider myself unluckly not to have played higher

i have scored over 500 goals for local saturday league teams in the county comp / west cheshire / prem zinagri

The Verbal Jouster (U11370)

I don't understand then because everybody who I play/played with who was at a decent level like yoruself generally has a bit more respect for players who are professionals. Even blue square players are bloody good at football.

As said it's more the sarkyness of remarks with no solutions. It;s okay to be frustrated but you seem not to sing when we're not winning if you know what I mean.

Robbing i appreciate that you and other 606ers dont know me so it would come accross sarcastic and irrating but i have a very dry sense of humour and i am guilty of being sarcastic but it mustn't come accross to well in writing.....

please note i never get personal with anyone and love the banter, i hate boring threads like name your favourite ground etc....i do admitt i like a good moan

You see I'm a glass half full kind of bloke but I do feel genuinely lucky to support LFC. We win things and I've had some wicked times thanks to this club.

Imagine supporting Everton!
