YES . the man we should have got is charles nzogbia and i have been banging on about it for ages.

clearly we need an out and out winger who will challenge lennon and bale for their places and who will come in when these two injury prone, and inconsistent players need rests.

Niko is see more as a stand in for VDV.. and peinarr is truly a utility man across the whole midfield.

We will however go into the season with bale and lennon, bale will get injured and miss a large chunk, and suddenly the whole way we play changes for the worse due to not having a like for like replacement for him.

btw.. i dont think matt jarvis is the man. the man is charles nzogbia... but looks like we are going to sit back and watch him go to that mediocre outfit that is aston villa.

He is a game changer AND a match winner all on his own

yup.. how many times this season have you seen him create something from nothing for WIGAN. put him in a better side with crisper passing and better movement and you have ten goals and ten assists in my opinion.

Bring back Ruel Fox and Jose Dominguez

Chronic - Its not just been last season, he has pretty much kept Wigan up for the last 3 seasons with his goals and skill

Its not surprising he is now being included in the French international team, he is a class act, but as you said, i reckon he will go to Villa....

Beezleboss,

Were you a member of BBC606?

I'd for Spurs to get Hazard. He's got a huge future ahead of him. Still really young, loads of pace, great finisher and has awesome vision.

FIFA 11

But still... He'd be quality.

Bring back John Chedozie.

I wasn't a member of BBC606 but started reading the forums just before its demise.

N'Zogbia would be another good option forgot about him! I would be a bit annoyed if he went to Villa as I feel he could do better (us!!!!). Lennon's form went a bit off towards the end of last season so perhaps some competition would bring the best out of him?

Would be great if the Mexican we signed could be another Hernandez for us but that is wishful thinking on my part due to the lack of strikers coming to the lane

Anyone we sign would only be back up to Bale and Lennon

But it would be some actual competition for Lennon though Thudd, Lennon can drift out of games on occasions

Chiedozie > Bale + Lennon

Pienaar's our back up

Think he'll come good, can't see us buying another winger, no chance

Just need a new striker to freshen things up and a replacement for Modric if he goes

I agree that Peinarr will be good this season. but for me hes not an out and out winger. I see him more as a player that will buzz around, be a nuisance without the ball, and be useful on it coming in from wide areas and finding space in behind the front man.

for me the midfield would be sorted for next season across all 4 comps if we had...

bale niko peinarr hudd jj sandro diarra modric vdv nzog lennon.

now that may seem like a lot of players.. but considering we like to play 5 in there.... then it gives us good options.

thats 11 men. add to it 3 keepers is 14. giving us 11 spaces to fill with the defence and strikers... 7 defenders, 4 forwards.. simples. or 8 defenders 3 forwards

I can't see us buying another winger thought it would be good to have some rotation there maybe with all the Europa League games we have.

I feel that with Rose and Walker bombing on from full back and with Bale and Lennon still young we could have very dangerous flanks in the coming years plus with Van der Vaart, Modric (hopefully) and Huddlestone in the middle there is still reason to be optimistic.

Mind you we could have Messi and Robben on both wings and our strikers would still find a way not to score

Lennon could be a real impact player in the last 20 mns

Thudd

I just think that if Lennon knew he had to fight for his place and saw some quality that could take his place it might actually give him a kick up the arris to get involved more in games...he can be electric on his day, but other days he can be a wet fish

none of these will be starters tho.

BAE is an exceptional LB and very much first choice. Walker is not ready for constant first team football in my opinion. Too poor defensively. Corluka is class.

Rose willl be a good full back in a few years! not just yet! .. Benny is playing literally out of his skin

Chronic are you the guy that did the 606 Cup 2 years agio?

Beezleboss

Please forgive me, but i'm always on guard with any new posters, especially posters who claim they simply "read the BBC606 boards" without posting.

Hopefully you'll prove me wrong & that we can get genuine new Spurs members to the boards.

As for new wingers, i think Harry is finding it difficult fitting 2 wingers in as it stands, when we play to accomodate VdV, so i'm not sure a new winger is on the cards, or needed.

If we could get Lennon from the first half of our 4th placed season and Bale from the 2nd half of that season would be awesome.

Anyone else a bit annoyed Harry Kane didn't go to South Africa? He seems a real talent and would have been useful to see how he would have performed with the first teamers. He can't be any worse than what we already have!

posted on 19/7/11

walker will see action at home, still a little green around the gills for tough away games.

if we can shift plenty, some competition for our wingers wldnt hurt.

dunno if anyone has mentioned him,EVER on our boards, but the lad from wigan would be ideal.

failing that, maybe jarvis from wolves, looks sharpe and full of potential.

but as we,mostly seem to agree, nothing will happen in terms of major investment in,until we shift the stiffs and the salaries they take.

it could all be last minute.com again, when clubs are desperate.

Good opening post, welcome

I also agree Jarvis is better than the overrated Pienaar
