I appreciate it Don, don't get me wrong. I just think it gets more hype than it deserves.

I can't agree with you there mate, i think the hype is justified. You're opinion though mate and i respect that, just don't agree with it

not lot to choose between them but for the second one edges it. De Niro is incredible

Casino's an odd one. i loved it, but was watching it with the gf and her parents the other day and they hated it

the Godfather was deffo inspired by the Borgias . btw, am i the only one who likes the Jeremy irons version?

"massively overrated in my opinion. There are loads of better gangster films - Goodfellas, Untouchables, The Departed, Casino and many more. The Godfather is a bit like Star Wars in that if enough people hype it up, the sheep will follow and if they don't like the film they'll keep it to themselves for fear of being different... Yes, for the record, i can't stand Star Wars either."

If you think Untouchables and The Departed is on Godfather's level then you know nothing about movies.

You made a valid point about Star Wars being overrated though.

"Are you having a laugh? "Infernal Affairs" got a lot of cheap publicity off the back of "the Departed" success and their claims for copyright infringement. They're nowhere near the same class even if "Infernal Affairs" wasn't half bad."

Infernal Affair's plotline and story is much deeper than The Departed.
A very intelligent movie.
