It's so easy to spot. Your natural reaction when falling or being tripped is to try and stop yourself. If the leading leg or arm is not being put out to stop the fall then they are going down intentionally i.e cheating. Everybody does it but it is part of modern game.

So Pulis thinks that a dive should be given the same punishment as a leg breaking challenge??

So you don't mind if your team concedes a penalty because the opposition cheated?
So you would like to see Bale banned for three games for diving?

Tony Pulis on the Crouch handball: "It's lovely for us, a smaller club, getting a decision against a bigger club."
Is there a difference between deliberately handling and diving? Hypocrisy from Pulis. Agree with the sentiments though, I hate seeing Bale diving and rolling about.
I've no problem with anyone getting banned for cheating,
does no-one in an A*senal shirt ever dive?
So you don't mind if your team concedes a penalty because the opposition cheated?

Paxton, i can under Pulis' frustrations at losing three points, which can mean him losing his job. But firstly, proving that someone dived in a panel is almost impossible. I mean to what level does a dive consitute as a dive? Is there a definition out there.
Secondly, Pulis' teams have been well known to push the boundaries of a challenge. I don't see him whinging about the tackles soem of his players put out every match to make up for their lack of technical talent. Some leg breaking challenges don't even get 1 matvh ban, let alone 3, and he wants one for diving?
Should read Blackburn shirt!
,doh.
Is diving to gain a penalty any different from the antics the likes of Huth get up to in the other team's box? The holding and shoving, blocking off. Pulis needs to get his own house in order before making himself some sort of champion of fair play

Granted it's difficult in real time to see if someone's cheated. However, if video evidence subsequently proves that a player has dived, then the player should be banned. Video evidence has been used before.
Yeah of course Blackburn players dive but my agruement is that it’s only ever disgraceful and appalling if it’s an opposition player, never one of your own. If a player from your team dived to win a penalty in the last minute and replays showed that it was a blatant dive, would he come out and apologise? No Would the fans give him abuse for it? No
Paxton, real or video it's still difficult to prove that it's a dive. If Young goes down against Tottenham and it looks like a clear dive in real play but the video shows that there's the slightest of feather touches, does that mean it's not a dive?
Do you remember the incident when Rooney clearly dived, and Andy Gray came on and argued that even though there was no contact, Rooney was simply taking precautions to avoid contact, and so it was a penalty?
These incidents show that it's next to impossible to argue a dive case. The matter should be dealt with on field. If the ref on the field, and only the ref, sees what he percieves as a dive, then he should punish the diver.
Tony Pulis will jump on whatever bandwagon there is, in order to deflect the attention from his rugby team.
Wild Rover - that's because you'd be cutting off your nose to spite your face because everyone else does it. I'd happily see Bale banned for diving if others were too. it's a scourge, and frankly embarrassing

I take your point, but if cheating is to be eliminated from the game then this is the sort of thing that has to start happening. It will eventually sink in after one or two players get banned that cheats don't prosper.
And besides, diving is perceived to be a very foreign attribute. When in fact the worst offender are probably british. Diving is a problem, but not as bad as Mr Pulid makes out. What is a problem, is the inane amount of shirt grabbing and fouls in the box during corners. Something Pulis knows a lot about.
The way Stoke players go into challenges I'd be diving out the way too.
I'd like to see the entire Stoke City football team given a 3 game ban for playing 'hoof it up the pitch', 'long throw', dross football

The problem is the players today are that soft you could put currants in them !!
I sound like an old winbag but years ago people like Norman Hunter Ron Chopper Harris, David Webb , Billy Bonds and Joe Jordan would have kicked you up the rump if you play acted.
Today it is a man's game played by a bunch of poofs !!

I'd prefer it if players were taught how to tackle properly. There are way too many studs up challenges these days
