Serial. Agreed there will be grey areas. But it's become a joke. If it is properly assessed by rational people, you CAN call a dive for what it is. And what it is, is cheating. People call it gamesmanship, but it's cheating. And I for one would love to see the FA lead the way and try to stop it.

Cockerel, i agree but that's the problem as in judgingit rationally.

I mean look at the Eduardo Celtic case. Blatent dive, but Eduardo got touched. So end result, diving charge overturned.

For me there is nothing the FA can do in terms on punishment. What Refs could do is make a note of the diver and remember that for later use.

Play-acting should be classed as diving, whether touched or not for me.

There are plenty of grey areas. If a player is genuinely getting out of the way of a reckless tackle it is clear to see. We all know when we see replays of incidents after the game, and some of us are even honest enough to call it when it's one of our own instead of being club-biased

Refs are beginning to the judge the play-acting rather than the actual challenge, when dishing out cards, freekicks etc.

Exactly, Chronic. It makes me cringe. When he's on the floor and everyone is fretting and worrying i'm safe in the knowledge that he will be on his feet with nothing more serious than a little grimace on his face

To be fair to Bale he does on occasions take some clever and cynical moves from defenders trying to stop him. On some occasions defenders will go flying in with little chance of getting ball but in a way that will put off Bale. If Bale dives out the way he is labelled a diver.

Serial, you're right. The Eduardo case is the best example. But with strict regulations in place, that wouldn't happen. If you gain an unfair advantage, you are a cheat. Simple. I'd go so far as to say it's on a par with drug use. Cheating is cheating when all is said and done.

wenger was an absolute joke in the Eduardo thing.

giving some kind of scientific evidence that his leg was scraped by a little feather and thus he didnt dive.

I don't like pulis but I agree to an extent. My idea is if you get caught diving = booking, get caught again that season = 2 game ban
