Maybe Celtic will win the title this year then!

And if they don't.....what's next?

Are there any Rangers representatives on the list above?

Celtic already have personnel in high positions within the SFA prior to this appointment; two to Rangers' one. If the addition of a third Celtic-Minded rep doesn't get the job done, then will they accept that it's just down to them being utter pap?

Plenty of paranoia to go around it seems.

It's absolutely shameful that Celtic should have people on the governing body! Don't they know that only people with Rangers connections are eligible to serve! What's the world coming to? They'll be wanting objective referees next!

^^^^^^

Read what I said, dimlo. You already had more Celtic-Minded reps on the governing body than Rangers did prior to this appointment

As opposed to Rangers who had no need for loopholes to get McCoist, Diouf & Bougherra off the hook.

It can only be a good thing that both sides are making moves to end their feud.

Calling what? If it's my use of the word 'feud' then I would say it's appropriate.

I thought Scottish football fans were sick and tired of Celtic and the SFA being at each others throats? I don't know why some of the Rangers fans are assuming that Lawwell would have any more power on that board than any of the other members.

So nothing to do with Lawwell having a direct line to Regan's lug to fill his heid with his poor, downtrodden, oppressed Celtic patter? OK then

Lawwell is one of many representatives from SPL clubs. You seem to be implying that he is some sort of 'enemy' of the football establishment in this country which is exactly the sort of attitude that both Celtic and the SFA want to leave in the past where it belongs. If the shoe was on the other foot, you would be howling of laughter at our perceived paranoia.

Mate this was predicted months ago, cronyism they call it. If you think Lawwell aint there to further Celtic's,and only Celtic's cause you are deluded.

Do you think the same in regards to Campbell Ogilvie, who is representing Hearts? Do you think any of the other board members have any reason whatsoever to just blindly agree with Lawwell even though they have just as much power as well as able to easily outnumber him?

My own theory is that Rangers fans don't like the fact that Celtic and the SFA are no longer considered enemies because that situation benefited their club more than anyone else.

So just to be clear,is it me thats paranoid or you? I don't really see how causing refs strikes and involving QC's in football benefitted Rangers

posted on 19/7/11

Does Lawwell still push the lie that celtic and their fans are not sectarian,at times,or does he now agree with Paul McBride QC,who states that celtic have a sectarian problem?
Lawwell played the oppressed celtic victim card last year, along with Lenny and the Green Brigade.Sadly a few dafties threatened Lenny and this was morally wrong and actually hurt Rangers. The celtic minded went into overdrive to blame Rangers for the idiots who threatened people connected to Celtic.
I hope Lawwell listens to McBride and accepts that celtic and Rangers have a sectarian and hooligan problem.

Well, it's clearly in your interests to suggest that the the whole 'both as bad as each other' mantra does not involve paranoia which is supposed to rest entirely on the Celtic support, always.

I would have more respect for the refs if they had called a similar strike when a Rangers player manhandled one of their own for having the audacity to give them a red card and get off scot-free. All that did was reinforce the view that the refs liked sticking it to Celtic more than being concerned for their own safety.

As for McBride, we were getting slaughtered by every media outlet in Scotland (and the UK thanks to pressure from the Rangers-minded) and quite frankly needed someone from the outside to restore some sanity to the situation and declare that we were not just a punching bag for every Darryl Broadfoot pal with a petty agenda of their own. Yes, that's what our club was reduced to, but you are kidding yourself on if a compliant media didn't drive the Celtic board to taking this drastic step. Just look at what happened to FARE.

If you are really concerned about the dafties then you should look at the tabloid/phone-in crew who are more than happy to whip them into a frenzy and let them do their dirty work for them. If you don't want this underclass encouraged you should challenge the sleekit cowards who like winding them up. It's the ordinary decent Rangers fan who suffers for being associated with them after all.

McBride is quite right to say that we as Celtic fans are indeed not "whiter than white" when it comes to the troubles in this country which is more constructive than the Rangers hierarchy blaming FARE for all their troubles.
