Won't be suprised if next summer SAF buys a winger and another striker but ignores the obvious midfield problem because Giggs and Scholes show they can still play another 2 years in the middle.
Right can someone please tell me how anyone sees Anderson or cleverly as inexperienced at their age?
Especially Anderson who has played shed loads of games for us.
It's ridiculous.
We have plenty of bodies for the midfield position, but I would have thought Anderson and Cleverley were our main contenders.
Apparently, SAF told Scholes he'll only play about 25 games this season. We're only 6 games in, and he's played 4.

Well....we can just look at the way they play on the field.
Ando cannot play past 60-70 mins.
Clevz with all his game intelligence/movement/passing is very very naive defensively. Also lacks strength to win 50-50's.
Everyone knows abt our midfield issues, and there is no point really debating abt it. SAF is clueless when it comes to MF and i do not expect him to suddenly become a tactical master.
But what abt the defense. His teams have always had good defenses. How can he have such a lopsided defense squad with 2 players above 30, 1 highly injury prone and the other coming back from a season out,
then we have 2 youngsters 20-12 yrs of age who are also prone to injuries. Every decent coach knows that a player is more susceptible to injuries at the start and end of their career, that is why u need a good mix of youngsters. prime players, experienced ones buit not for SAF. He is totally happy to blame injuries without trying anything to solve the problem.
Gr8 going.......
It's hard not to agree with certain points, but I doubt it's as easy as sounds.
However I do feel Fergie is very sentimental, and that clouds his judgement.
Cleverley is pretty inexperienced at this level. His age has nothing to do with that.
Anderson on the other hand, when fit, has started some absolutely massive games for us. I'm talking a CL final, semi-finals, title deciders etc. Of course Fergie trusts him.
SAF is clueless when it comes to MF
**
of course he is.
You seem to have entirely dismissed the quality of the players and only focused on the nominal age, also being over 30 does not mean you are past it, I would say early 30s is when you are still at your peak.

------------------------
Not to mention Clevs who is now a full international
Sir Alex is just breaking in Ando and Clevs as gentle as possible given they have both had long term injuries in the past.
As for the defence. We have Smalling and Jones who were England's u21 partnership. They are both injured sadly. We have Keane and Wootton not too far away. We have Evans who has been better than most expected and sadly our captain is injured. We are plenty strong at the back and if Ando and Clevs can stay fit, along with the added bonus of Fletch being back and Powell not too far away, we will be plenty strong enough in midfield.
Looking at the second half v Spurs, we played the best we had played all season. Sir Alex certainly thought so
Things will get better. We just need to get a couple of our players back. Even Carrick's bloody ill now
Well....we can just look at the way they play on the field.
Ando cannot play past 60-70 mins.

Neither can Scholes. Yet he plays week in, week out.

Exactly
Both are not good enough.
But so what...we'll buy another winger/striker/forward for 30 mil in the summer and everything will be rosey again.
We say SAF should buy this and that, but who would you want in our midfield right now? a realistic option who is available and of genuine quality.
Maybe you should post a letter through his letter box telling him how he's a clueless old git who should retire before he causes Manchester United any more harm

-----------------------------
Silly comment that for me
Rooney couldn't play past 70 minutes either
The club will have both fit in the next couple of weeks
remember, Ando has just come back from a long injury lay off and is clearly beind coaxed in gently to make a recorrence less likely
First of all, 4-4-2 for a top team does not work anymore.
Full stop.
If we still wanna play that formation we will have to buy players like Martinez/DeRossi/Toure/Busquets etc who can all do defensive duties as well as construct attacks.
Or change the style to 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, or 4-3-2-1 etc.
That way we can have Carrick sitting(just like Arteta/Garcia)etc.
Then we can have the movement and legs of Ando and Clevz to join up with the attackers.
That way, we will be able to give Cleverson more chances to establish themselves. Also it would be easier to give our youth players first team experience when they have 2 senior MF players alongside them.
I think Pogba also saw this, SAF is married to 4-4-2 which is just obsolete now.
The answers are right in front of SAF but he lacks conviction/desire/confidence to implement them.
Scholes may very well be the best player in training still, but it does not take a genius to figure out that he lacks the stamina/strength for a starter against decent opposition.
SAF is shirking from responsibility and hiding behingd the injury excuses just like Wenger.
It's doing my head in.

Even when he is fully fit(which he never is), he always struggles around the 70 mins mark.
Everyone can see that but it is another thing accepting that.
I think Fergie tried a 4-2-3-1 in the first half against tottenham which obviously didn't work out only to revert to a 4-4-2 in the second half which obviously did.

Clearly you'll do a better job than Sir Alex and have a far more indepth understanding of the squad and their current fitness levels
Sir Alex Ferguson says Anderson is unlucky not to have played more football for Manchester United this season, having impressed on the Reds’ summer tour.
The Brazilian midfielder has started just two of the team’s eight competitive fixtures in 2012/13 – against Fulham in August and in last week’s Capital One Cup match against Newcastle United, a game in which he found the net and topped ManUtd.com’s Man of the Match poll.
But it’s the form of others that’s limiting the 24-year-old’s involvement at the moment, according to the United manager.
“Anderson is a difficult one to leave out but I don’t think there’s been anything wrong with the form of Paul Scholes or Michael Carrick, which makes it difficult to involve other central midfielders when there’s always a desire to play with two wide players,” Sir Alex said.
“Anderson has done nothing wrong. His pre-season form was terrific and he’s a top player, but I still think that Scholes is a great player.“ With Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley, Anderson and Nick Powell, it gives me a lot of different options.”

Didn't Spurs just buy Dembele for £15m?
We was trying to pay double that for an unproven winger, who we didn't need.

I think Fergie knows exactly who he wants and is waiting until he is available at the right terms to get him. Meanwhile he will rotate the CMs that he has at his disposal. That includes G&S.
