Depressing statistic.

You know in this league it's not beyond the realms of fantasy.

Whether we do it with the current boss or a different one I don't really care, so long as we at least try and do it.

I can't see us pulling a run off like Reading last year. Just can't see it. Sorry!

Not quite, Bricks. We need 81 more points this season to attain 92 points (2 per game).

We have another 37 games in which to achieve this. 81/37 = just under 2.19 points per game. I think you're forgetting the 11 points we already have on the board.

The reduced target still doesn't look realistic, given how we're playing, but it's a whole lot more realistic than winning 5 in 6.

Bricks - just brilliant

I have put everything through the most superbest, amazingest, fantasticle predictor-thingy-majig!!!

92 points will win the title by 9 points. 2nd is on 83 points.

The octopus-atron has never been wrong!!!!!

Our target was to win 2 out of every 3 games or 2 points/game.

We are currently achieving 1.22 points/game.

Our adjusted target is now 2.49 points/game.

This means we have to win 5 out of every 6 games until the end of the season.

Sorry!!!

We are eight points behind the leaders. Not what any of us wanted or expected but there is still lots of time to pull things round, whether that is with Coyle as manager or not.

No, we may not need 2.49 points per game that is pure assumption. Don't worry though, we have more posters on here with crystal balls than at a psychic convention.

P.S. The 2.49 points per game you will say is what the Chairman has stated, but as we all know if we were hovering around the top of the table he wouldn't give a toss.

It's lost it's shock value now though, Bricks, bearing in mind you mention it almost every day.

The real irony is RB got his calculation wrong, and has disappeared without editing his OP.

At least get the figures correct!

Maybe he is busy going through Burnden Leisure PLC's accounts? Leave him alone

Are we on track for promotion....?

No.

And in fairness Bricks, while your article appears to be flawed, I'm amazed at how lightly Coyle has got away with blame since Leeds.. His quotes in the press have been embarrassing and desperate..

I'd rather be called pathetic!!!

MT - what's going on with you?

You know as well as I do that if you are going to cteate a whole post based on figures, then you have to get them right!!

To answer your question honestly.

Far to early to say.

I'll ask you one.

How many of the top 6 right now will be top 6 after 46 games?

Depressing but false statistic.

An educated and intelligent man is Bricks. Why he posts articles like this, I've never really got to the bottom of.

"How many of the top 6 right now will be top 6 after 46 games?"

????? It's irrelevant though... We should be higher... It seems you're trying to lower our expectations because everyone else is beating each other....

I blame Coyle, not an inconsistent division for our situation.

Maybe he too likes to wind people up...?

MT - all last season and so far this season, I have been slated for saying OC won't be sacked.

Having this inside info, did affect my judgement last season. I allowed knowing that OC was there all season want me to wish he would succeed.

Once it became clear that relegation wasn't going to get Coyle sacked, what choice did we have but to support him this season?

Nothing has changed after 9 games. Coyle is still safe, he is safe for at least another 11 games, so why not try and get behind the team???

posted on 4/10/12

"so why not try and get behind the team???"

That doesn't make sense though...

I support the club financially & don't boo at matches... I buy shirts etc etc....

Am I now to come on some Internet site and kiss a mans behind that is incompetent and not good enough...? Will me starting an article "Come On You Super Whites" change a thing? Will killing a butterfly in RIO affect life at BWFC?

No pal, it won't.

Wanted him gone 12 month ago... Said he'd take us down. Telling you now, he won't take us up. Believe me or don't believe me..

But never say I don't get behind my team... That does your stance a disservice..

With bent stats? It's possible I guess, incredibly dry method if that's what it is. I always say the same thing in these situations, there's enough valid criticisms to go round at the moment without making new ones up. The actual points tally needed to catch up on the 2 points per game target is depressing enough.

From 8th in the PL to 17th in the Championship in 2 short years....I can't quite get my head round it.

That's an article starter LH!!!

Go on..........

MT - very glad to hear you don't boo. Very glad to know this forum is where you vent.

But plenty on here do boo at games and seem proud to admit it. If this forum allows you to get things off your chest then go for it. Still doesn't alter the fact that OC will be our manager going into the 20th game on 1st Dec.

"Still doesn't alter the fact that OC will be our manager going into the 20th game on 1st Dec."

So what.....?!

Does that stop people wanting change, discussing change, challenging the owners, criticising tactics, wanting better, loving the club, hating the club, abusing the club, crying at the club...

This is our club, our passion, our hopes, our fears, our smiles our tears...

I'm not gonna shut the F up because a user thinks we won't look at changing things til match day 20!!!

I'm a man not a F ing machine!!!!!!

Human spirit, Bolton Fan & I want the manager to do one!!!!!

posted on 4/10/12

Who told you to shut the F up!!!???

posted on 4/10/12

No one...

Amazed that's the only come back though...

In fact, that come back says a lot....
