I'm dead in 45 years...!

-----

You never know...

I don't think we can blame one person for the past 18 months, but people are at fault and our demise could've been avoided.

I think HH isn't really talking about the past 18 months but about what we should do to avoid dropping further.

We are pal...

BWFC on top of the world is both our hopes!!!

One man to blame OC,actually two Gartside the pleb who employed him!.
Dont mind who scores, but nobody does!.
The signings of Ream,Mears,Ngog,Sordell,Andrews,Mills dont add up do they really?
Job Appraisal=FAILED.

I don't think that's fair, nuns. I don't think Coyle has given those players a chance. For the amount of transfer money an wage budget we are working with, I think those signings are fairly decent.

The thing that annoys me about Coyle isn't necessarily his signings, it's the fact that he either doesn't play them or doesn't play a style to suit them.

Can't remember which article it was, but someone said Money was the difference & that was the excuse...

Ream, Sordell, Ngog & Alonso equals about £12m in transfer fees before wages etc...

That's disgusting.

Agree with all your article HH but until Ngog shows any signs of shouldering some scoring burden SKD will remain. He has missed some right sitters in his 4 games. Forwards must score goals

"Forwards must score goals"

Not true.

A teams system must score goals.

posted on 4/10/12

But forwards must take a large portion of the burden

posted on 4/10/12

I think either OC has decided Ngog or Sordell were stupid signings or something is seriously wrong.
Either they have poor attitudes, dont train well, not team players etc,or the penny has dropped!.
We have discussed formations on here for so long,we cant agree on it and obviously Owen cant.So thats why in my opinion he has failed in his job/role.
This is going to get ugly, mark my words.

You cant say that though Petrov.

Not all forwards are designed to score goals, some are implemented because they offer more to the system and team than goals.

Look at Heskey...yeah he was abit of a joke, but his link up play was phenomenal, and Michael Owen can think him personally for many of his goals in his career.

Ngog is the link up man, but he also has great movement and pace to burn, we didnt play a system that got the best out of him. Nowhere near.

You cannot throw a striker into a side, and just expect him to score willy nilly.

Look at Torres at Liverpool, then Chelsea.

Look at Shevchenko at AC Milan, then Chelsea.

Look at Forlan at United, then everywhere else.

Look at Kevin Davies at Blackburn and Soton, then us.

Look at Robbie Keane at Liverpool.

A few examples..

Sometimes a players strengths are not played to.

If you dont play to their strengths, you'll never get the best out of them...no matter how good they are.

We can get someone else to stand in KD's position at set pieces...Plus its not even him who deserves the credit for his goals...its Eagles and Petrov who have supplied the superb crosses.

Atleast its not 12m on Robinson, Steinsson, Knight and Shittu.....Oh wait we gave Knight an extension... :/

Nuns, you've jumped to about 6 different conclusions there hahaha

I agree with TRR.

I dont have a problem with Coyle's signings... i actually think he's done well in the market compared to the previous chap.

But...he has not deployed these players correctly, played players out of position, strengths not played to....lesser players played ahead of them. It's wrong.

You mean signings that give and kept us in the premiership.....

Doh!!!!!!!

He has to contribute

I think many things need changing and quick.
Boggers- Not good enough we need an experienced keeper in maybe Sorenson from Stoke for example.
Knight for a big lad is not aggresive enough and poor with and without the ball,we need a leader there.
Granted a middle two of Holden n Spearing would be nice but Holden aint coming back if so not the same player.
Up front simple GOALS and we wont score enough with this shower,so maybe a cheeky loan bid for Guidetti or Powell.
But the bare bones in my opinion is we wont get promoted or in the play offs with this lot.
If you think we will then fair enough, but It aint gonna happen unless change is implemented and quick.

They also contributed to our relegation MT.

Minus Shittu...we gave him 2m to leave.

More than the manager...?

CYL was a Megson signing and 50% of your 12 month excuse... Mentioning him.....????

posted on 4/10/12

Thats debatable.

God i hate Megson, he used to shout at the tea ladies and tell Lofty the Lion how to perform during matchdays after than speak to the players...

(seems like a joke, but Lofty himself genuinly told me)

"Thats debatable."

What is? Owen Coyle got us relegated or CYL is a Megson signin...?

Debate away.....

at least Davies offers some kind of goal threat, Ngog possesses none at all.
As i said earlier until someone can offer more goals. more effort and determination then for me SKD will play. The problem is finding a goal scorer to play alongside him which looking at the current options looks a tall order.

"The problem is finding a goal scorer to play alongside him which looking at the current options looks a tall order."

The problem is called Owen.

It isnt only Coyle's fault, its the players aswell...mainly Knight, Robinson, Steinsson and Davies for me...standards really dropped. I was really annoyed that we kept Davies and Knight on...we need progression. We will go nowhere with the likes of them in the side....plus Owen picking them and others who are his favourites...rather than the best team. This is where a tactician, would be better suited to a man manager.

HH, your OP is very good. The only issue that I see is that SKD has been one of our better performers this season, and it is very difficult for OC to drop the Club Captain while he is scoring goals.

I would also prefer to see Ngog and Sordell start, but I am not sure we will see this happen unless SKD picks up an injury!!!

You know my position regarding OC, and you also know that I am happy to give him the 20 games that PG has stated privately in the Reebok corridors.

I still stand by my assertion that he would have gone by now if PG and ED weren't happy. They appear to understand this league and while we are within touching distance of the top 3-5 teams, there is no way OC will be sacked.

I am certain if Ngog had as much game time as Davies this season he would have scored more than Davies has.
