Well for starters its just an opinion,one that may be shared by the majority of fellow Murray fans on here but at the end of the day it still remains an opinion

Its good that Murray gives you something to feel proud about but why build it up to be something it isn't? I mean I dont recall the day it was declared that Murray is the greatest player this country ( Spain) has ever produced

My issue doesnt really lie with Murray,hes earned a lot of my respect this season,its the Murray fans who do him a great disservice
Theres a difference between being proud and then theres being arrogant to the point if nausea
Its a shame cause Murray is a great player,but you cant watch a match,read an article or speak to a Murray fan without passing the bucket
Plus many Murray fans are only Murray fans cause he is British,I doubt many of them would be a Murray fan if he hailed from Uzbekistan.It makes me question if they are true fans of the game or just a fan of a player
I also dont think this tribal pack mentality is healthy,you have to look no further then this very forum....

i feel an affinity with a guy i live 30 miles from. i find him to have a dry sense of humour. all accounts say he doesn't like the cameras. he's just a quiet laddie from Dunblane who after all who was in a building when a heinous attrocity occured.

who knows how this scarred him or any other person within the building that day.

Had Murray been lucky enough to be in that era then i would imagine he would be on at least 10 slams by now, easy! I dont expect a Murray hater like you to agree. I think if you dig deep enough you will find "pros" have commented on how lucky certain players have been, living in certain era's. 2000-05 was pretty poor! Hey, even Rodick won a slam during that period!

As for "penalising" Fed, do be so dramatic! Just pointing out he was rather lucky, as would Murray, had he been in that era! But Fed has done a great job acheiving what he has against some of the greatest players ever in Tennis that are currently playing! So lets just say,hes been involved in the weakest and now the strongest era of Tennis!

How would Murray be on 10 slams if
1,he has never beaten Roger in a grand slam
2 he has never been able to even take a set off Roger in a grand slam,not until the old man is nearing 31
3 the only time he made a grand slam final when beat one of the 3 players ahead of him in the semi final was back at the 08 U.S Open,every other time he made the final,its because the draw opened up for him

Why dont you dig deep and find pros who support your weak era theory,after all youre the one who is is trying and expected to prove that your weak era theory holds weight,the burden of proof lies with you,its not my responsibility to do your homework for you

Surely if it was that weak he would have been breezing through the draw no?

veejay, why are you comparing Murray with Fed? Fed cannot be compared to anyone. But I think Murray deserve praise for winning a slam because at one stage even that outcome was looking unlikely.

What sport do you play? I am asking this because winning is a habit and if you start to lose then psychological barriers start to build that creates obstacle in winning even if you possess the talent for it.
Mind you, Djoker was on one slam for long time and kept onlosing to Fed at USO fro five years in a row but once he crossed that threshold he started to win more and more. We might witness the same with Murray.
Also, I don't think that Murray needs to be castiggated for not defending, he has defended Shanghai and if he wins this year then it will be three in a row. IMO Murray is in a prime postion to win WTF.
