no answer i see, hmmmmm maybe if you have a dislike you can't explain you should maybe refrain from posting anti Andy Murray threads
there's a good lad
Well for starters its just an opinion, one that may be shared by the majority of fellow Murray fans on here but at the end of the day it still remains an opinion
The fact that you trumpet this opinion around as a fact is once again nothing more then an opinion
Its really no different then saying Federer is the GOAT,its just an opinion which is shared by the majority, its not a fact
Whether you imply greatest on the planet or greatest on the British Isles, youre still throwing the word greatest around, you cant fool me.I see straight through you, calling him the greatest is about as close as you can come to elevating him to GOAThood without actually saying it
How you benefit from this remains to be seen,I guess its just stroking that age old ego..." Im British we are the best/greatest" "Viva La france" "Vamos Espana" " I'am American"etc everyone forever thinking their nationality is more superior then the next
Its good that Murray gives you something to feel proud about but why build it up to be something it isn't? I mean I dont recall the day it was declared that Murray is the greatest player this country ( Spain) has ever produced
My issue doesnt really lie with Murray, hes earned a lot of my respect this season, its the Murray fans who do him a great disservice
Theres a difference between being proud and then theres being arrogant to the point if nausea
Its a shame cause Murray is a great player, but you cant watch a match, read an article or speak to a Murray fan without passing the bucket
Plus many Murray fans are only Murray fans cause he is British,I doubt many of them would be a Murray fan if he hailed from Uzbekistan. It makes me question if they are true fans of the game or just a fan of a player
I also dont think this tribal pack mentality is healthy, you have to look no further then this very forum....
Look how unpopular me and a few others are and how much scrutiny we come under for not being part of the pack

"veegay"
My opinion differs so I must be gay....what wonderful logic
But that just sums you up in a nutshell, cant debate so you resort to childish name calling and derogatory insults
Gotta feel sorry for someone who feels better about themselves and feels more empowered by calling someone gay
Its that really all it takes
God,just imagine how you must feel when calling someone a f a g
i'll answer your first post cos your second one is downright weird. the veegay thing is a play on words, a joke nothing else, heck a few posters have called you this but hey it takes a jock to get your back up.
i'm an andy murray fan because tennis is my 2nd favourite sport and i'm scottish.
i feel an affinity with a guy i live 30 miles from. i find him to have a dry sense of humour. all accounts say he doesn't like the cameras. he's just a quiet laddie from Dunblane who after all who was in a building when a heinous attrocity occured.
who knows how this scarred him or any other person within the building that day.
i always thought of this country, i mean the whole island, as a patriotic nation who backed our sporting stars
for some reason none of us can fathom you have decided to dedicate yourself as an online poster to placate and slate our islands hero whenever you feel the urge to press the power button
sad indeed
Veejay, fed, Nole and Nadal have all said Murray is a great player before he won a slam, are you saying they are all wrong then?
You create threads simply to knock a player, how sad is that.

thanks jonty i feel a little vindicated. i'm sure vee-jay is a perfectly nice person but lay off of the murray bashing
plus he doesn't answer direct questions
there you go folks, just read his latest post to see how banal one individual can be
oh and ANDY MURRAY, GRAND SLAM AND OLYMPIC CHAMPION
Unfortunately Murray doesnt seem to share the same outlook in supporting our athletes as you do cause he admitted that he always supports the team England football team is facing
------------
No, he has not.
Why do you make stuff up?
Jonty...
When did I say Murray isnt a great player?
Was this not my exact response to you"
"Murray is a great player,a world class player if you wish..no one here is disputing that"
Lmao...Im making things up?
Looks like you suffer from selective memory too Jonty
Did you really forget the huge backlash Murray faced when he said he supports whoever England plays
To be fair he was young and didnt think before he said it,he also wasnt fully aware of how the media operate
Im sure it was just a joke he shares with her friends but it certainly rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way
He was accused of being racist and anti-English
ah back to the paraguay joke
Jonty i respect you pal and have read many of your posts but are you taking this stuff seriously?
i dunno if VJ is a wum or whatever but this is now dredging the depths
Lmao...Im making things up?

You clearly have no idea of what happened, suggest you learn the facts before misquoting them.
Polb, looking at vee jay's posting record, one can only assume he/she is a wum.
4 articles created, 3 of them knocking top players.
I struggle to see why a genuine tennis fan would do that, clearly all he/she wants to do is provoke.
Why dont you just save me the effort and educate my "ignorant " brain Jonty...come on guide us all from our errors and lead us to the light...
If you suspect that Im only out to provoke why then give me the exact reaction you think provoke people for? Doesnt make sense...Its ok to like drama,no need to feel ashamed if you do,but just own it
@ LogieB
Im still waiting for you to prove to me that Federer benefitted from a weak era...come on,dont run away again,if what you say is true then it really shouldn't be hard to back it up
While youre at it,seeing that Nadal won all his RG titles against the same players/draw does that mean he also benefitted from a weak era?
Run away again
Do you think you are you some sort of cyber, bully boy
VJ, you would argue with yourself, just for the sake of arguing! Any trumpet can see that Fed benifitted from a week era! You only have to see who he beat to win his first few slams!

Federer's first Slam was won by beating Phillipousis. Says it all really.

veejay, if you take your head out of your ar se maybe you'll start seeing and talking sense.
Had Murray been lucky enough to be in that era then i would imagine he would be on at least 10 slams by now, easy! I dont expect a Murray hater like you to agree. I think if you dig deep enough you will find "pros" have commented on how lucky certain players have been, living in certain era's. 2000-05 was pretty poor! Hey, even Rodick won a slam during that period!
As for "penalising" Fed, do be so dramatic! Just pointing out he was rather lucky, as would Murray, had he been in that era! But Fed has done a great job acheiving what he has against some of the greatest players ever in Tennis that are currently playing! So lets just say,hes been involved in the weakest and now the strongest era of Tennis!
LOL Jonty,is that really your best response?
No comment from the peanut gallery?
How would Murray be on 10 slams if
1,he has never beaten Roger in a grand slam
2 he has never been able to even take a set off Roger in a grand slam, not until the old man is nearing 31
3 the only time he made a grand slam final when beat one of the 3 players ahead of him in the semi final was back at the 08 U.S Open, every other time he made the final, its because the draw opened up for him
Why dont you dig deep and find pros who support your weak era theory, after all youre the one who is is trying and expected to prove that your weak era theory holds weight, the burden of proof lies with you,its not my responsibility to do your homework for you
I guess you have no proof,if you did you would have rubbed in it my face by now
Im not the one penalising Roger so dont accuse me of being dramatic, its not Rogers fault who ends up on the other side of the,so why blame him? A player can only face who is on the other side of the net
Yeah Roger is very lucky,17 majors later and rewritten the history books....pure luck lol
Just wondering if the era was so weak why did Nadal as the legitimate no 2 for several seasons fail to make a single final at the U.S Open against such a weak field?
Surely if it was that weak he would have been breezing through the draw no?
If you take Roger out of the equation, not a single player will be sitting with his records or achievements, for the simple fact that not a single player ha ever shown the ability to match his consistency
veejay, why are you comparing Murray with Fed? Fed cannot be compared to anyone. But I think Murray deserve praise for winning a slam because at one stage even that outcome was looking unlikely.
What sport do you play? I am asking this because winning is a habit and if you start to lose then psychological barriers start to build that creates obstacle in winning even if you possess the talent for it.
Mind you, Djoker was on one slam for long time and kept onlosing to Fed at USO fro five years in a row but once he crossed that threshold he started to win more and more. We might witness the same with Murray.
Also, I don't think that Murray needs to be castiggated for not defending, he has defended Shanghai and if he wins this year then it will be three in a row. IMO Murray is in a prime postion to win WTF.
Thats precisely the point,Im not comparing Murray with Federer because I dont believe Murray is in the same class, but it seems stating the obvious around here isnt appreciated
You are not stating the obvious. you say that Murray does not deserve any appreciation. I dont think that I am comparing Murray with Fed but I do appreciate that he has managed to win a slam.
