Chronic - He came on as a late sub for us in Carling Cup. Dont think he is injured. Just not getting into the team thats all.

We'll buy him in Jan if that's ok Mr Chelsea?

Actually, come to think of it, I think given our midfield, and the fact we forgot to buy Modric, Hazard, Schneijder, Ozil and Lucas, avoiding relegation, 4th round of the FA Cup and Europa League qualification would be an outstanding achievment

For Wigan, success would be a more comfortable season without the usual drama at the end of the season.

Wigan do look competitive in the bottom group with QPR, Norwich, Reading, Southampton and Villa. While Liverpool should climb up the table, Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea are not far ahead.

Wigan do have some promising young players in reserve, and further progress in the League Cup would be welcome. Wigan have reached the final once before!

Bahamas - He was meant to be a hot prospect back in Germany. Hope he does well for us. Kind of gone under the rader with the signings of Hazard&Oscar

Ive always maintained that we should have bought in the central midfield area rather than going all out for number 10s and wiingers. However I think we've found a solutiion now by accident I guess with Ramires and Mikel in the midfield 2.

Alll I remember about Marin is that when we played Bremen in Bremen in the CL he had an amazing game. Very low centre of gravity.
Also my mate always bought him on FIFA!

Yeah Genius Greaves we are playin some good football.

I'd point out that CL next season and the FA Cup would be the minimum I'd expect with the players we have. If we can maintain this decent run and get another forward in Jan then the prem is not out of reach......Or am I just a dreamer?

As a West Ham fan, in our first season back I would be content with just staying up, that said we shoud be aiming higher. So let's say lower mid-table.

Imagine us becoming the first club to retain the CL. Dont rule it out.

Beating United 6-1 at the swamp and winning the title with the last kick of the season (thwarting United in the process) will do me just fine

Barca, Madrid, ManU, etc... they all tried but failed.
No way you guys will manage to do it!

Agreed, but it is a cup competition for everyone, including Chelsea. Just a little "faux-pas" and you are out.
That's why teams before have failed, you need to be 100% and switch on all the time, which is hard to do.
Also, last year the PL was out of your reach. This time around, you might do well in the league, which mean your players will be more tired!

We wont though I guess. We wont defend as much this year. Wont get the same luck either. We've got too many good players upfront to defend like we did last year, but im hoping by the knockout stages, the 4 of Torres,Oscar,Mata&Hazard will be properly gelled together to cause any team problems in the CL.

True IAWT - If we're challenging for the PL, wil be hard to keep up good form in the CL.

Being a Chelsea fan it's hard to project any expectations because for the most part they're never in touch with our boards. I expect CL consolidation with a visable change in philosphy within the group dynamic, results are irrelevant as our the cup competitions aslong as those two criteria are met. Next season, results will have more significance on meeting specific objectives. Our those the expectations of our board? God knows. And even if they are, they'll probably change before the season closes.

it's definitely worth a cheeky trip to the bookies (along with the league title). what you think the odds are for chelsea for league/ champions league double?

Joking, top 3 + world club cup would do me . Don't expect us to win the league this season but wouldn't surprise me if we did, said a month or two ago just had a funny feeling about the league this season.

Chelsea are getting overhyped, I don't see them as serious challengers to us and the Manc clubs.

True success is wuinning trophies.

A successful league campaign is finishing above your position in the wages-paid table for me.

It's all a question of the Christmas Blues. How bad will they be this season? We knew it'll happen, just a question of how much it hinders us.

sad thing about football now. i shall give you an example. during the 2008-9 season aston villa were flying high in the league (i think they were 3rd at the time) and they were due to play a europa league game away (a compeition they had a realistic chance of winning at the time imo) but martin o'neil sacrificed it to concentrate on trying to achieve a top 4 spot. unfortunately for villa they didn't finish in the top 4 that season. sad is now that clubs would finish prefer to finish 4th and have no trophy as opposed to finishing 10th and win the fa cup (i include myself in that category by the way)
