My a-r-s-e is not positioned under the Spurs 606 communal bonfire this month, so I'm good.

Do you use telephones (fixed or mobile) ??
Do you use navigation devices ?? In your car ?? Mobile phone ??
Ever had cable TV ?? Or used the Internet via ADSL ??

"I knew there was something wrong with him"
1. Wasn't the last time I answered this question, your reply was (something like) :
I always knew he was a robot.
2. My peer group cannot take credit for soup cans + clothes lines (and we wouldn't, cos on Manglesey such a claim would have us eaten for the crime of heresy) .

If I was a robot, at least I would safe to visit Manglesey.
This is an unusually good article from Sandy.

Talking of work, Grandspur only posts in the middle of of the night now, he told me he does nightwork. I reckon he is working at Patel`s all night 24 hour store in downtown Berkshire.
Excuse me Sandy
but i lived in the royal country of berkshire most of my life and we dont have a Mr patels all night opening shops or £1 shops
they are all in surrey where the ch-avs all live
Sandy
Yes I think some of us are getting arrogant.. success breeds expectation, it's only natural.
Galv
Similarly it's only to be exected that people react negatively to criticism of Levy and AVB. Reserving judgement is one thing but this early into what is clearly a long-term strategy re: the new stadium we have to be patient.
Having an opinion that it won't work is fine, continuing to voice that opinion will be met with resistance - I don't know anyone that enjoys negativity on a daily basis about anything in their life.
For now we have no reason to believe the club is being managed irresponsibly - quite the opposite in fact. Results over the season will determine the success or failiure of Levy's decision making but until then I say we stay positive - the alternative is neither enjoyable or constructive for anyone concerned.

Maybe arrogant is a bit strong, what I meant is would we not have been well happy if we were sitting in 5th place, and on unbeaten run of 8 games with four consecutive wins in the prem, just a few years back. We seemed to be wallowing in mid term mediocrity then, and were happy just to win any game. Also we were regularly getting knocked out of cup competitions by lower league clubs, Port Vale, Leicester, etc.

You have to ask yourself why it is continuing though. If no-one releases the clay pigeon, you cant shoot it.
If posters werent as persistent about continuing their pro-opinions, then the anti-opinions wouldn't have a place.
As such, you can bash people like me who dont share your opinions, but you might be better to bash the posters who continue to launch the clay pigeon. If its too early to have a negative judgement then its too early to have a positive one.
Just a thought.
Raising the expectation bar higher is no big thing.
It comes with the position the club has consolidated itself into, over the past 7 yrs.
Agreed Sandy, maybe spoilt is the word - I grew up being happy to see Spurs in the top half of the table!

Bit defensive there fella, just saying it's not fun to dwell on the negative - however factual it is.
If its too early to have a negative judgement then its too early to have a positive one..

that is true, but my viewpoint positive or not is irrelevant - we're talking about the debate as a whole.
For example - if you were to go around a pub pointing out to everyone smoking that they were X times more likely to get cancer you'd be right.
But no-one would want to talk to you.

No-one's dwelling on it, just being realistic about it. There is nothing wrong or disloyal about admitting your weaknesses.
If you was having a debate with a group of people about smoking (ie. equivalent to a forum like this), i dont think anyone would have a problem with you expressing the view that it is more common to get cancer if you smoke. In fact, it would be daft not to mention that in such a debate. There doesn't always have to be an elephant in the room you know.

There is a difference imo between positivity and ridiculous cheerleading, just as there is between negativity and ridiculous doom-mongering.

Exactly. After the United game, I said AVB deserved credit for our first half performance and got it spot-on, but must take some blame for how poor we were 2nd half. Trying to get any of the 'other side' to acknowledge this was like pulling teeth
HRH,
Didn't you know, it was our new found mental strength that got us through that 2nd half? The crowd were so noisy that the players couldn't hear AVB telling the players to stop sitting in their own half hoofing the ball out for 40 minutes & it was tactical genius making RVP to scuff his shot wide, where he would usually bury that chance 99 times out of 100. It was a pre-match masterminded game plan.
That's the difference - although I doubt him, if he dies something right he gets credit for it from me. The others simply won't acknowledge any mistakes but jump on anything that is positive. He got all the credit for the QPR 2nd half (rightly, although no criticism for the 1st half) but no blame for the United 2nd half, and in some cases actual praise for it from the same people who caned Chelsea as lucky bus-parkers....
....yet we get branded irrational and one-eyed.
You two finally got a room ..........
To be fair, we could say the same about you and Sandy. You have Messiah's name as part of your name too. He without sin, glasshouses etc
