I agree. Full credit goes to AVB for the first half, when we done a job on them. Others will give him credit for that, but refuse point-blank to see him criticised for the 2nd half. He'll get credit for the QPR second half though from them. There lies the problem

----

The thing is I was on the match thread for the QPR game and was watching it. After that dreadful first half there was booing and but a positive word to say. At the time I'll admit I thought it was justified - we were terrible and I said so at the time.

However. We had just lost Naughton to injury so AVB had a choice of Bale or Vertonghen at left back. I don't think he can be blamed for choosing Bale but it didn't work and he was brave enough to change it. So yes, he did well there imo.

United is a different matter. We could have Mourinho in charge and we'd bottle the last half hour.

The truth of it for a good manager (ironically) is when things ... GO WRONG.

AVB has had two real moments like that to date.
One when he did something about it (2nd half vs QPR) .
One when he did not, and the team got away with it (2nd half at OT) .

but we won at UTD, if he had changed it we might of lost ?

why are people surprised that one of the best teams in the world gave us a torrid time in the second half

weare :

The bottle job was the issue.
They were not playing like that by design.

As has been said often enough. We got away with it. We were due our OT moment. We won't see a half like that from a Spurs side that often this season (if again) .

we still went up the other end and scored though

its the players who are on the pitch not the manager

how many times in the past have the players bottled it at utd and come away with nothing ?

we have had yrs of the players not believing they could get anything and im sure that was in the players minds, do you really think he told the team to fall back so deep ?

well lets hope we can get a result at Arsenal and man city and everyone can have a go at him for that too

"well lets hope we can get a result at Arsenal and man city"

Well if we play at <Citeh> like last season, and at the Library like the season before (no VDV ) , you may be pleasantly satisfied on both counts.

No reason not to be on here if we win both games - they are fixtures we have won in the last few seasons. If we win and/or play well he'll get credit. Even if we lose narrowly but put in a performance he'll get credit. I will say this probably for the 100th time - I want him to be a success as it means Spurs are doing well. I just happen to think he won't. I want my car to pass its MOT, but I don't think it will

Think of me and Chicken as the handbrake on hype. Everyone was getting carried away and giddy last season, believing the hype, lapping up the media attention, thinking we were tithe contenders, mind the gap etc, laughing at Chelsea, and look what happened.

everyone...c'mon now HRH...don't act your the don dadda and always right....

i by no means got carried away in that great run...

its really simple...have your opinion...let others have there's...debate it...either accept they may be right/have a point...or agree to disagree....

-----------------------

I'd never try and suppress anyone's opinion. If someone does have one I disagree with, I'll quite happily have a debate about it...unfortunately that doesn't seem to be a very popular stance at present.

If people keep bowling balls I'm going to keep putting a bat on them though I'm afraid.

There are a lot of people acting holier-than-thou and thinking they are true supporters because they are behind AVB, have totally bought in to him and anything said against him is heresy. Perhaps when I dig up some articles from last season I'll find the very same people foaming at the mouth in Spring and doing all
the Gooner/Chelsea baiting in Winter

Bãle's

If you don't care what other people think there's no point debating - it's just preaching.

====================

I didnt say i didnt care what people think - just that i dont care that they dont like my opinions. I'm not going to think a certain way to make me popular. As i say, i've never been a sheep & i dont intend to start now.

If I did not know better I would say you were one and the same poster, with different usernames

Again, if there’s no blatant hypocrisy in that statement then i’m Lionel Messi.

Just had a quick look at articles around the time of the Norwich game last season. There is some absolute hypocrisy gold there!

HRH,

Exactly. And its the posters who were writing that stuff who now claim if you post anti-manager comments, it makes you a WUM, not a real fan & you must want the team to lose.

Funny that.

I only had a look at a few articles, but there were bits for each and every person who agreed with the sentiments of this article and who are generally the first to dig you or I out.

Someone saying the booing was justified when they were one of the most vocal people calling booers idiots this season was my very first find (I didn't boo incidentally).

HRH,

I wish i could be bothered to look back & read some of them. It would be great to name & shame.

It's really easy to find old articles:

Go to current articles.

Go to page 2.

Click in the address bar.

Change the /2/DC you find at the very end to a bigger number - /201/DC is the 201st page for example, and this is the aftermath of Norwich beating us at home.

HRH,

Can you send me a link to the page you mean?

Cheers.

Title: Do us all a favour Harry

"Shut the fecking door on your way out

Same as last season

Harry plays same players all the time so when we do get to late stage of the season and get injurys the players coming in dont fit into the team

Fed up of him constantly talking in riddles and just saying what he thinks the press want to hear.

Said 6 weeks ago Levy needed to find out what was in Harrys mind regarding the England job and get it sorted, but no we have let it fester like a ulser..

We have no chance of top 4, the players were second to everything today and deserved to lose .. the heart and desire has been missing for weeks

Harry has blagged it as a manager and will be very funny seeing him in charge of England as he really does not have a clue.. 5 games to go and still only team in prem not to score from a freekick

Coaching staff can all go with him, need a total clear out of backroom staff in the summer, one end of season collaspe is bad two is competly unforgivable .."

posted on 15/10/12

Think that pretty much sums up what i thought of Harry at the end, and im guesing so did Levy

i got my wish, total clear out of coaching staff and a new manager and coaches who spend time with the players where it matters in trainning

Your so desperate Chicken that your losing your marbles
