Lets be honest, Dhoni is no Gary Ballance is he.
lets be honest, that is his shot that he has come up with, the way dilshan plays that dilshan scoop, the way kp does the switch hit its the same thing dhoni does.
doesnt mean i cant do switch hit or any other batsman cant. but just what dhoni brought into his game. i mean whats the point of having every batsman play the same old text book shots? doesnt show uniqueness. and wait dhoni isnt a technically equiped batsman so its fine
I was talking to a couple of Indian programmers at work and they were eulogising about this shot that I had never heard of

The helicopter shot is just horrible. Looks awful on any cricketer, Dhoni can do better than that. You make a good point about the feminine look to it. Is Dhoni a vegetarian by any chance?

Neon you don't half talk nonsense do you? Had nothing to do with religion you muppet.
Ps, for your information not all Hindus are vegetarians as they only don't eat beef . Not that it had any relevance to the article, but thought I'd educate you regardless.

Ajmal and Hafeez also use the pause and I think it's an art to have a pause and still bowl so accurate. If batsman are going to premeditate then the bowlers have every right to do this.

The Dilscoop actually has a purpose though. It lobs the WK and goes for a certain boundary, so it's more than acceptable in my eyes.
That helicopter thing... there's no need for the swirl at the end. What does it actually achieve? It's more than likely just Dhoni allowing the momentum from the shot to expire.
I remember Yuvraj hitting a six in a T20 match one time though... it was awesome. He just hit it to his right, it didn't go very high at all, might have hit the advertising boards near the boundary. I'll try and find it
The reason for this shot is to dig the full length delivery out of the block hole. He stays back and and swings his bat through the line of the ball.
This is actully a smart shot. There is really no other way of playing a well bowled yorker.

While Inzi, Patel and Richards can only dig the yorker out, Dhoni can smoke them for 4s and 6s with the power he generates from the shot.
