I really want Joe to succeed this season.
I thought he would when he first arrived - he didnt.
I thought he would following his return from a successful loan period - he hasnt.
Admittedly he has had niggly injuries (again) but but he just doesnt look like he is gonna be a top player for us.
I cant bring myself to speak of the wages.

Right now? Well, it's 5:00 so probably McDonalds. If it was 6:00 it'd be KFC.

Having a wee snack before his main scran.

Carra

Agger should play

Where the f is Doni is a bigger question...

Agger should play

-------------

The league has to be the main focus, even more so that it's a derby game Playing any of our main players should be considered too much of a risk, never mind the injury prone Dagger.

I really don't fancy a 34 yeard old Carragher against a 6 ft 8 in Lacina Traore and Samuel Eto'o.......

We have to take this seriously, lose this, and Udinese win, we are basicaly out....

Carragher is still a good player and hasn't let anybody down when he has played this season. He deserves to play.

Not fancying him against 2 very pacy forwards (Lacina despite being so tall, has incredible pace )

Coates isn't the quikest either, and want to see Coates--Agger play together.

With Agger's injury history there is no way he'll play.

That may be so, but for this season I would like to see this competition and the League Cup used as a platform for our reserve players and some of the promising youngsters (not those who have broken into the first team).

The owners are on record as basically saying that the cup competitions mean very little, so if the only the league that matters (presumably due to the potential financial return) that has to be the priority. European football is serving it's purpose this season by allowing the manager to give first team opportunities to players who otherwise might not be getting a game. I hope it continues, but realistically risking our first team players, when the squad in terms of depth is threadbare in certain area's, is too much of a risk.

Imagine Agger played and picked up an injury. BR would be slaughtered. I remember Lucas getting injured last season in a Carling Cup match after playing a league game 2 days before.

I don't want to see our better players being risked in a competition which in my guess carries little credence with BR's bosses.

agree with that! we really are short in attack its a nightmare

The owners have never said that cup competitions mean very little, in fact they've said the opposite.

Point taken, I just want us to go as far into the Europa League as possible, will be hard though, with such little squad depth, but at least we have some very good youth players who will gain valuable experience

Di Natale gave us nightmares.

Eto'o, well...

posted on 24/10/12

Game taken seriously or not, I don't want any team to hit 3 past us at Anfield again.

Ludy

We played Coates--Carra vs ONE striker in Di Natale and look how he tormented us. We will be playing that same pairing but this time against TWO v.good strikers, an even better ST in Eto'o and a huge, pacy talent in Lacina Traore......

Yes this cup is just a test run if you like, but I want us to win some silverware this season, and the Europa League is a very good competition.

"The FA Cup would not have made any difference had he won it, no, no," Henry, after Kenny was dismissed.

Winning two cups wouldn't have saved Kenny. Therefore one can conclude that cup competitions are regarded as being far less important than league performance.

It'll affect team morale, doesn't matter if the game is important or not.

Also being in this competition past January will help us with January signings.
