His contract runs out in the summer... So how could it be more than 10 million with 6 months left on his contract at 29 years of age...
Huntelaar is a lazy donkey who wouldn't work in a 433 and is past his best, he'd only be a short term fix and would just get in the way of the development of young players with potential to be better like Yesil.

Joe Allen is Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets combined (U14198)
I don't think he is past his best with 48 goals in 47 appearances last season I actually believe is his peaking right now. In the 433 perhaps what we need is a real goal scoring centre forward who liked to get in the box and score goals far to often when we go forward and the ball goes out wide there is not enough bodies in the box to turn the ball into the net. This would mean Suarez plays to the right and can create chances. If not JKH for a steal of a price then who is really going to make a massive difference to our goal scoring problems as a January signing?
How would he stop the development of young players Joe Allen? We've no strikers and yesil is not getting starts, BR will play a young lad if he thinks he's ready and so far BR has not seen yesil as an option even with our lack of strikers.
We need a quick fix up front, we need goals now and the young lads will develop and clearly get games under BR when they're ready, signing huntellar will have absolutely no affect on young players at the club, we play enough games a season that they will get chances and a manager who will play them
Every good team should have at least 3 strikers if not four.. Plus other attacking options..
Look at United RVP, Rooney, Hernandez, Wellbeck...
That is what we need not every player can play every week but over a season with such a busy schedule you need other options..
And look at the age of their attack 2 youngsters, one mid 20's player and an experienced goal scorer. That is PERFECT. The youngsters learn from the experienced players they get their chance as well and the squad rotate. United have the best goal scoring record in the league at the moment with this formula..
If you think those stats are impressive check out this guy.

" He scored 39 goals in 7 matches for Black Aces in 2008"
" Fenerbahçe Apps - 0 Goals - (123)"
"He played a successful season with them and scored 146 goals until his injury in April 2009"
"he was sold to Spartak Moscow for €145 million due to the match fixing scandal in Fenerbahce"
Think somebody has had trouble translating those statistics!
.... In all seriousness though, he is the next Didier Drogba. Except with serious speed.

The earlier you stop this Huntelaar obsession the better for you. FSG are never going to pay £10m+ on 29 yr old players who's unproven in the premier league who also failed in top leagues he played in - Spanish and Italian league. .
Not a wise investment and very short term

Unproven!! Read the stats you abnoxious little pr*t.
KJH is EXACTLY the player LFC needs. You'd be happy for a 29 yr old Dempsey to come to Anfield !!! He is shocking for Spurs this season; he isn't fit to lace KJH's boots....KJH is experienced, proven partnership with Suarez, Strong on the ball and knows where the goal is. His domestic and International record is second to none.
He doesn't need to worry about CL cos he is the type of player that will get us there for next season.
OP cos I've been banging this for ages.
Wouldn't mind him in January
If you look at in on a club by club basis, we have room for one signing like Huntelaar. Shalke are a modest club and they don't spend big they try to develope talent in a similar way to what we are trying to achieve. Let's face it if we can get KJH for a knock down price and he carries on his club form then we have ourselves a bargain.
I too think he would be a great signing.
He is in a different class to the likes of Bent and Ba who some people want us to sign.
He has also played well with Suarez so it would be a no brainer for me, but I don't think FSG will agree and are not going to spend £10m and £100k a week on a 29 year old, even if he would join which is debatable especially if Schalke are still in the CL.
KJH would be a brilliant signing but I don't think he fits the FSG profile because of low/no resale value, so doubt it will happen.
Of all the clubs he could choose from, why would he pick Liverpool? This is why you lot get mocked by other fans. You've done nothing of note for a few years now,but yet still think you've got more pulling power than the elite clubs of Europe? He's 29, he can't risk signing for a club than can only offer maybe's.
Who is claiming that he would want to sign for us? All I can see is people saying they would like us to sign him. Whether he would want to sign is a totally different matter. Are you saying that no player will want to play for a club who haven't won anything 'of note' for a few years? Why does anyone ever sign for clubs like Everton then. No disrespect to Everton but they haven't won anything for years, never mind anything 'of note'
Alas
He would come to Liverpool because he can see we have a vibrant young team and a new start with a top manager. He's not played in the Premiership before and what club has more passionate fans or a fantastic City to be part of?
If he wants to play in the Prem then we are about his only realistic option.
Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City, Spurs and Chelsea won't want him. Newcastle and Everton can't afford his wages.
I doubt he does have a longing to play in England personally, but if he does, it's pretty much us or no-one.
He would come to Liverpool because he can see we have a vibrant young team and a new start with a top manager.
How is BJ a top manager? He hasn't done anything yet. Like I said,it's all maybe's,and at 29,I can't see him taking the risk.

He wouldn't go to Everton or Newcastle, and I can see the teams mentioned becoming interested if he was on a free.
The title of this article's misleading. If both were on a free who would you take RVP or Huntelaar? (forget the wages, it's hypothetical).
If the question is would Huntelaar be great for LIverpool then the answers an unequivocal yes. I've said this before about Bent, but it seems the feeling on here is that he doesn't fit the age/value for money profile that FSG are looking for. From that point of view neither does Huntelaar.

Huntelaar is a lazy donkey who wouldn't work in a 433 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Huntelaar has played 4 years at Ajax as the striker in a 4-3-3 formation, earning himself a transfer to Real Madrid.
Yep, he didn't make it there. But neither did Sneijder, van der Vaart en Robben. All four played at Real at the time, and all 4 were sold. Wouldn't call them a failure in the big leagues, would you?
Huntelaar, has scored 34 goals for the Dutch national team....which always plays with 3 strikers....
