Poor Football and having to pay premiership prices
I prefer going to away games, as the atmosphere at ER is shocking lately
I know I could do better.
The season ticket sales is pathetic and thats why midweek games are so low.
Id be going on a massive season ticket drive.
Tickets would be lowered to fair price, around £400 for kop, id be putting a interest free incenitve of 10 months if you commit in jan/feb ( £40 a month isnt alot and its all in the mind)
Season tickets would be sold in the south stand, family stand would be put back to what it should, A FAMILY STAND. Kids prices would be lowered too, £150 for kids in family stand (this is still high compared to other clubs, but thats what i could be putting them in.
Concessions would be brought back to west stand,
20000 would be the aim.
New applicants would be same as renewals, to attract more, ( 2 free cup games for season ticket holders and if there isnt any 10% off the following season price)
Email, letters to all ex season tickets/ members.
Encouraging supporters clubs groups across the country to buy them, helping with coaches etc
25,664 were present against Leicester on the last game of last year.
We had a pathetic squad, we had no chance of doing anything other than finish 12th-15th in the league.
17,484 were present on Tuesday. A team unbeaten in 7, a win would lift them into the playoffs and we've scored in every game this season.
However we all know the reasons for dropping nearly a third in attendance in the space of 6 months.
( 2 free cup games for season ticket holders and if there isnt any 10% off the following season price)
talking about for the renewals there, so they dont get pisted off with being same price
I've been a season ticket holder at Toronto FC since it's birth in 2007...and the team has not got to the playoffs once in that time. Crowds initially were the maximum of over 20,000...but now, with the continual dross on show, they have dwindled to below 15,000....so the owners for next season have cut the season ticket prices back to the rates of 2007 for next season, hoping it will keep bums in the stands.
(works for me, as I only go for the beer anyway)
High expectations, poor team, nothing spent on players, no return for your money but the main issue is the pricing, it's far too expensive for people to take their kids too.
Don't think i've witnessed anything like the atmosphere on tues for very long time.
The club need to act now and get some fans back, like lower the season ticket price for next year and kids for £1 this season.
side_before_self, spot on mate. Cant wait for Millwall away will be a great atmosphere, love going down there. Elland Road is not a nice place to be at the moment and wasnt last season!
The standard of the football is dull at best, but probably just woeful. The quality of entertainment was higher when we were in League 1.
Against Barnsley I found myself looking at my watch, wishing time away. It would have been unthinkable in the past. Sad thing is the cloud formations over Beeston are more interesting than watching Leeds play these days and they're free.
Wow...it's all extremely worrying. I must say though, the game against Sheff Wed made me realise we have an extreme lack of talent.
It all come down to one man in the end........Bates!
LIW is spot on, Bates has done the opposite of attracting fans, he is getting what he deserves.
Bates Out, dont give Bates cash
To say that crowds rarely got above 15,000 or 16,000 in the 80s is rubbish
8-years ago we all bought into his "if you want prem football, you'll have to pay prem prices" so we all invested in the club at sky high prices and we carried on doing it to watch 3rd division football. We've seen plenty of cash leave the club and we've seen our better players flogged to enhance his bank accounts.
We've seen a lack of investment even though we all invested heavily with our own cash. The last 2 seasons have seen more and more fans stay away because they're sick of seeing their hard earned cash not going into the squad. We've seen bates take out loans against future ticket sales and take a mortgage for £2m from GFH and sell debenture shares to god knows who.
The fans are sick of broken promises and and a broken old man
Just been to the gym, my mate who went on Tuesday said he could hear the players talking to each other it was that bad! He said the atmosphere was sterile and the worst he has seen! He also said he thinks Becchio is a cart horse and Varney is a confidence player who needs a run of games and will be class!
1 out of 2 aint bad i guess.
RSL....I can assure you that at most of the games I attended in the mid to late 80's, the crowd was in the mid teens (000,s)....I was referring to the games I attended...obviously the crowds swelled by massive proportions when I wasn't there!

Spot on, as usual, until I got to the bit about the broken old man. Bates will line his pockets to the bitter end. The falling gates will see the turnover propped up by player sales but frustratingly, the cash cow is taking far longer to die than is good for the long term benefit of the club as well as most fans sanity. I read that a couple of seasons ago the break even gate was in the low to mid 20s. It's well below that now, so hopefully Bates' stewardship is in its death throes, but the stubborn old shirt front appears to be hanging in there just to spite the fans. Bates Out!!

Varney is useless, confident or otherwise. He had one stand out season for Crewe I believe and that is it. We played like a desperate Portsmouth on Tuesday because that's what Warnock et al have built here at ER.
Atmosphere was awful. I remember a wet midweek game against Barnsley where we lost at home and that effectively saw the end of Bremner as manager. That said the crowd was about 15k and the atmosphere far better than Tuesday. ER has become sterile.
My mate's brother is Finance Director for Birmingham City (also a Leeds fan btw) so I'm hoping to get some snippets re takeover very soon.
I can't recall the situation at ER ever being as bad as this for many a year.
