Ashley Young? Seriously?

Dubbed

I wouldn't go as far as you did. Young is a decent player and far better than Downing but I still don't see why United needed to buy him when they have Valencia and Nani, he could be doing this at Villa or any other club IMO and when the honeymoon period is over I would like to see how he responds because his attitude was pretty pathetic at Villa tbh

That's fair. People are blinded by the present. You just watch in a few months time.
He'll be benched. And replaced with another average dross Valencia.

Fair point, but perhaps this was due to him being a big fish in a small pond. He was the highest paid player there and probably had delusions of grandieur. Unless he turns into the next Ronaldo, I don't see how he would get away with that at United. If he tried it, he'd be out the door anyway.

Average dross valencia!
This article is definitely showing you up to be clueless about football

All Valencia possess is decent pace, and good crosses.
Same applies to Young.

At least I offer opinion, and explain myself. Unlike you who just laughs and cheers like a little school girl in the background.

Isn't that what they say about walcott........

Young scored a few crackers yesterday, but still, tearing apart a third rate right back is hardly something to gloat about. We'll see if he can continue in this industrious vain of form throughout the rest of the season.

I've personally thought he was overrated and I still think that. He's decent, but he's not one of the best wingers in the Premier League, that's for sure.

He also scored a couple of worldies to be fair. They weren't flukes purely because he managed to do it again.

Name me the best left wingers in the prem and then we can see if he's one of the best?

In fairness all the senior players revolted under that toad Houllier. That would never of happened with O'Neill there. Once O'Neill left it comes as no surprise to me Young dipped in form, with a better man manager in Fergie he could get back to the player he was in 08/09 and early 09/10

"All Valencia possess is decent pace, and good crosses."

As well as strength, and it happens to prove very effective.

"Same applies to Young."

Young can also beat a man, is two footed, and knows where the goal is. What more do you want from a winger?

It must really baffle you how despite buying superstars such as Gervinho and Jenkinson, Arsenal always manage to finish below United and its team of headless chickens.

There isn't more that you could ask from a winger. I also like the way they bust a gut to get back and help defend, something that nani seems to have picked up on this season.

Beat a man? The guy can't even dribble. One dimensional, one trick pony.

"It must really baffle you how despite buying superstars such as Gervinho and Jenkinson, Arsenal always manage to finish below United and its team of headless chickens."

How irrelevant. Arsenal are in one heck of a predicament currently. And there's no doubt Man U are the better side.
But we are specifically discussing Ashley 'Headless' Young.

By the way, I think Gervinho is average. But I do think Jenkinson will become a good defender.

Jenkinson is rubbish and is a 3rd tier footballer at best but Gervinho has huge potential.

SAF is a better man manager than Wenger and it shows. Attitude, discipline and workrate is one of the main reasons United come on top.

Arsenal have effectively had 4 red cards in 3 games, that would never happen at United.

Compare the workrate, enthusiasm and attitude of Smalling and Rooney, then compare that to Rosicky and Arshavin.

When you have players playing for each other it makes a huge difference, in terms of ability I actually think Gervinho is a better player than Young but won't flourish in that environment.

Malouda
Valencia
Nani (versatile on either wing, isn't he?)
Mata
Bale
Maxi
Kuyt
Silva
Nasri (played on the wing for City, so presumably, he is deployed as a winger nowadays)
Ben Arfa
Dempsey (versatile as a winger)

Yeh that's what I'm hoping for. If anyone can fergie can. Btw I don't think Young is ever gonna set the world alight, but he's decent enough and good at what he does and he'll cause a lot of lower league teams a lot of problems. Sometimes the biggest frustration is breaking down defences of 10 behind the ball and he'll be good for that. Right now there's absoluetly no doubt he's improved our left side going forward.

I take back what I said about walcott because the kid can't cross the ball to save his life

Err, maybe because he's not a winger?

Young is average. No doubt the plastic Utd fans will be shoving his two goals against us in our faces, but getting the better of comical defenders like Jenkinson and Traore is hardly praise worthy.

I think Gervinho will be decent for us. Nothing special but he'll get the job done.

Btw I think Jenkinson is the worst defender in the history of football. He's absolutely catastrophic. Awful, awful player. He's the closest thing to Hernandez.

Walcott is a striker currently being played as an inside forward.

I'm guessing you don't watch much footy?

So why does he get played as a winger?

Malouda - You don't think Young is better or at least equivalent to his standard?
Valencia - Plays on the right mate.
Nani (versatile on either wing, isn't he?) Much better player on the right. Personally I don't want him on the left.
Mata - fair enough but he's had half a game! But lets assume he;s gonna be good in the prem
Bale - Yeh I'd say he's probably better at the moment.
Maxi - Not a chance mate, average player past his best and plenty of my scouse mates will say the same.
Kuyt - plays as a right wing forward.
Silva - Yep agreed, better.
Nasri (played on the wing for City, so presumably, he is deployed as a winger nowadays) Yep agreed
Ben Arfa - Injured not proven in the prem.
Dempsey (versatile as a winger) Young is better
----------------------------------

Added my comments to your post above and based on the names you've suggested, Young appears to be amongst the best.

He doesn't. He did, but he doesn't anymore because as you said he can't cross. He's fast and he's clinical. Therefore he is an inside forward.

Strange then for england he gets piacked as a winger, I take it you don't watch england?
