so you go from borini to cavanni... what next, swap downing for robben and henderson for iniesta

Would be hard to say no to someone of his caliber, but do we really have that kind of money available?
Maybe the owners didn't want to throw too much around in the summer until they seen which way the stadium issue was going. Maybe we can free some cash up now? Probably just hopeful thinking
he would def. solve the scoring problem, hey he would solve any teams problems,he is that good but unless suarez and coates talk to him and beg him to join them at liverpool and beg him hard too it would never ever happen
Are'nt you getting drogba on short term loan??
All depends on Henry's/FSG's wallet.
The lack of value in the January transfer market would make this very unlikely imo.
it aint gonna happen. but in fairness, napoli have just been charged for match fixing. juventus got relegated for that a couple of years back. it might happen to napoli as well. cavani will not be playing in serie b i can tell you that now
to be honest, i dont think you can attract those types of players any more, and thats not a dig.
youve not had champions league for a few years now, and all top players want to play in the biggest competition.
having said that, i think you can still attract players good enough to get you in contention, just not cavanni standard yet.
Ba scores again yesterday. Why do we even need to look at unrealistic options when Ba could be available? If he is we might not be the only team that may bid for him with Chelsea and Arsenal probably looking for an additional striker too but what i'm saying is that i'd rather go for the cheaper but premier league proven option.
i dont think ba is available though kash, if im correct the release clause in his contract ended in august.
Kash, I believe if we can get Ba through his release clause he would make us 10X better he doesn't need 50 chances to score one but i remember what happend last time we went for a Newcastle striker in Jan
Going for these types of players will depend on Champions League qualification. Our results and officials performances against us this season mean that looks unlikely.
Dunc - Pardew confirmed that Ba's release clause is again open in January.

has he??
ah right... seems a strange contract to have though... if his release clause only opens during the transfer window, then why close it?

Ba is one knee injury away from his career being over though. Rarely trains and needs injectios before and after every game. Can't see many taking that kind of risk on a player

I'd like us to make a January move for a promising young striker by the name of Andre Voronin
No idea, perhaps to stop foreign countries with different transfer windows taking him when they have no chance to buy a replacement.

We won't be signing Ba.
We definitely won't be buying Cavani.
We will try and buy ??????
Don't care as long as they do the business.
I'd take Ba, £7m well worth the risk. People have talked about his knee injury but he's play nearly three seasons and not one injury(that I can remember). He's a cheap and experienced option. I'd take him and bring Carroll back and thus we have four different strikers to choose from, for £7m.
Although you all realise the second he signs on the dotted line he will reach out to shake joe cole's hand and trip over Lucas causing both of them to be out for around 5 years
I can see you buying Darren Bent, after failing to sign Sturridge on a loan with view to buy.
