Agree Darren. Valencia and Atletico seem to bring through some great players, Villa,Silva,Mata,Aguero,Torres,Forlan etc etc. Barca tend to do the same as well, when was the last time Madrid actually brought and produced a youngster through?
Such an incredible team.
The worst thing about it is that we only saw it for one season, and even then, we didn't always see that lineup due to Hargo being injured.
Not replacing Hargo is the biggest shame of it all. Whenever he played we won the midfield battle pretty much.
We replaced Ronaldo and Tevez's goals, but not Hargo.
Mata came from Madrid's youth team. So did Soldado and Granero. Madrid produce more talent for La Liga than any other side. The problem is, it's never or Madrid.
They're too impatient and need to sign a star each year. It's so muggy, because like I said, they have an incredible youth set up.
Yehyeh i know he came from the madrid youth team but he never got a chance and Valencia were the ones who really developed and progressed him.
And yeh i know what you mean, it is annoying, maybe when they win that 10th champions league they want so badly they'll chill out and put faith in youth for a few years although it'll only happen if they have a different manager as Mourinho won't do that, but even then Madrid are like us and have a tendacity to sack managers very quickly.
We are pretty hopeless as well, our youth seems to produce some good talent / prospects and untill recently we have hardly ever given youth a chance and the amount of recent youth titles and talent we've signed the amount of players that have actually broke into our first team is next to none.
We do seem to be finally realising we need to sort this out though and we seem to be on the right path now. Still feel sorry for Josh though, had high hopes for him but think we've managed him so bad, if he was with united/arsenal/liverpool he'd be a regular week in week out now imo
It's so ridiculous and a complete waste of money. It's down to Perez really. When he came in and started signing all the Galacticos it set the trend.
I know they used to spend big before, but they always used to combine it with youth development - be it from their own or from smaller Spanih sides - much like what Barca do now.
They had many players from their youth team during their 90's CL winning sides if I remember rightly.
As long as Perez is there it will never happen.
Yeah it's a shame. It's the demands of being at a team competing for trophies I guess.
We've not really had anyone break through either. Welbeck, Evans, Cleverly and Fletcher are the only notable ones recently. And although good, Evans is the only one that has the chance of being a really top class player.
I guess it's hard when British players are so wànk.
I like the way the Germans do things. They've got so much talent there. And because all the teams are pretty stable financially, you won't get what happens in Spain.
And they keep stealing all the talent from Turkey, eh Kam?
I have heard there are a lot of talented young German players that are eligible for Turkey though.
Ozil and Gundogen are two that chose Germany. Sahin chose Turkey over Germany though.
Hope it catches on here. We've got plenty of kebab shops so in sure the talent is there.
Yeah most of the s choose Germany though.
Gundogan and Ozil are s of the highest order.
To he fair, they are actually German.
I know there is a large population of Turks in Germany, and given the population of German's and great youth academies, inevitably they will produce some top players for Turkey.
Sahin an example of this.
Sahin Gundogen
Ozil
Would have been some midfield. Unlucky. You've still got Emre.
They might be German by name, but they are Turkish by nature.
I'v e got a British Passport, but I'm from Azerbaijan and Azeri through and through.
Having a German passport doesn't make them German in my eyes.
It's not just Ozil and Gundogan btw, some top Turkish talents have chosen Germany in the past. Remember Mehmet Scholl? Yeah, he was another . There are plenty of other examples like Tasci etc.
Only the ones who know they're not good enough to play for Germany choose Turkey. Nuri is a rare exception, he's a good lad
Btw what nationality are you Daz?
Emre is a more talented player than Nuri, Daz. Seriously, he's one of the best talents we've ever produced, but he has been EXTREMELY injury prone his whole career. Very underrated. If he wasn't so injury prone, he would've played for one of the top clubs in Europe in his prime.
He had a spell at Inter, but he was plagued by injuries and sold.
Gundogan, Nuri, Ozil and Arda would've been brilliant together
Sahin is a better talent than Emre from what I've seen of him.
Was joking about Emre, he was a very talented player that never fulfilled it.
I get what you mean, but I still think being brought up in a country regardless of your heritage qualifies you as that nationality.
It's hard for me to say as I'm English as are all of my family, so I wouldn't really know how it is as a person whose family have emigrated there.
A friend of mine is half Iraqi and half Trinidian and she's very much English in her opinion. I guess it depends on the individual.
Ozil is Kurdish. Please don't get it wrong.
Lol yeah, I guess it depends on individuals, morals etc.
On Sahin, he's lost his way a bit. He should have never left Dortmund, he went from being the German Champions' best player to... playing for Liverpool. He's just not the same player he was a couple of years ago. You don't see him splitting defences open for fun nowadays. It probably has something to do with the trash around him.
That gimp Mourinho played his part as well...
"Ozil is Kurdish. Please don't get it wrong."

I'm sorry, what country are 'Kurdish' people from?
That's true, Liverpool would make Ozil look bad. He also had a bad injury.
I was always under the impression he was Turkish. According to wiki he is third generation Turkish.
Also:
In 2010, Özil received the Bambi award for being a prime example of successful integration within German society.
I wonder if they'll consider giving this award to Torres.
Oii El Nino, you gonna answer my question or have you bottled it?
Looks like he's done a runner.
Anyway, let's get this artistic, masterpiece of an article back on topic.
Kurds are a ethnic group from the middle east. Kurdistan is where they're from which isn't actually a state but comprises Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Siria, Azerbaijan and quite a few other countries.
I don't know a lot about it though. I know the prefix stan means land of, so I'm assuming land of the Kurds is due to where they're geographically based. I'm no expert though.

RVP is great and a bargain to.
