Another perspective is that Boruc offered a mirror into the more, shall we say, ugly side of Scottish football up here.

Do you remember guys filming him blessing himself at Ibrox, squealing 'wuv goat ye noo, ya effing bigot'.

"Whenever he got involved with fans up here, it always came back to the crossing himself thing and was wrote off as bigotry and all that."

Case in point with your post

Zach never said you were wound up by his religion but you said he used his religion to wind people up. Why would anyone get wound up by another mans religion?

===

Because he used it a s a weapon then hid behind it.

The man is an insult to proper God fearing people.

How anyone can defend a guy who used an act of faith as he would showing his butt or sticking 2 fingers up is beyond me.

A complete insult to his and millions of others faith.

Scientologists wind me up.

Actually all religion does, but Scientologists get my goat the most.

Them and Bhudists.

Why was there trouble in Northern Ireland??
Thats the same question.....answer it, you're a genius.

End of the day, this article is about Boruc lashing out whenever he gets abuse far quicker and far more frequent than a lot of other players......and this is a man with a history of wummery......its pathetic, and hee needs to learn his lesson here.

He caused all sorts of ruptions up here, and you tims lapped it up, and put all the abuse he got down to bigotry.

There's no bigotry involved in whats happened here at Southampton....the guy's just a bad loser that cannie take stick.....considering that, he should never have dished it out up here to the extent he did.

Religion and buffoonery go hand in hand. I say that as someone of faith.

For ever and anon. Medieval festivals had people dressing donkeys up as bishops for example.

Point taken about Boruc, but the other side of the coin, the side that got wound up about it, needs to be addressed more. For too long in this country we've tolerated the warped mindset of a small minority of idiots stuck in the 17thc.

St3vie I'm on record on here about the other side too.

We give too much credence to the lunatic fringe, although the papers do tend to milk it, or they have done in the past.

I remember plenty of players doing it at Ibrox in the champions league.

Why is it different for a celtic player?

Why did he feel the need to bless himself in front of rangers fans?

No place for it in fitba
======================================

Why should it be a problem?

Would you say the same thing to Kayal whilst he does his prayer before ko?

Im an atheist for the record I dont have much time for religion but I have less time for blind intolerence.
