1 clean sheet in the prem this season does not back up your article.
Kaboul has been a massive loss tbh
When he's picked Lloris we've kept two clean sheets but that would be being harsh on Brad. Apart from that yes stats say we've let in a lot of goals but I'd say the performances at Old Trafford, St James's Park would suggest that we're a lot less likely to buckle Emirates style our soft centre and Walker's loss of form notwithstanding.
King and Kaboul are massive losses.
Parker, Modric and VDV are massive losses too.
We're a completely different team these days, and you're right not nearly as easy on the eye.

The fact that we've won games when only playing for 45 minutes is more down to Sandro than the defence though I would concede.

What Messiah said. We have lost Modric and VDV two players who contributed to our attacking flair massively.
Adding the loss of Kaboul, who in my opinion is by far our best defender. To some extent Benny contributes to our attack greatly and is missed. Walker is a shadow of the player he was last season.
That doesn't make AVB exempt from blame but that's a hell of a lot of players we're missing.

Would DVD have played VDV anyway? I remember him being benched a lot in pre season unless this was to protect him for his impending move. I think we will miss the Dutchman in the big games particularly at the Effeminates although H had him sitting on his back side for the first 45 last year and that didn't go too bad!

I've been to every home game so far this season and the way he has the team playing kills the atmosphere in the ground stone dead. It's one of life's mysteries how we're so high up the table the way we're playing at home. Thank God we've managed a couple of decent away wins, if our home form transfers itself to our away performances, I can see this becoming a long, hard season.
Defence resilient?
We need to score more goals, because until we get BAE, Kaboul & Parker back we will always concede!!
"While making us more defensively resilient"
The facts don't support that.
When we have key players back and AVB finally decides to play 4-4-2 I think things will start to look better....
Friedal/Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen BAE
Lennon Parker/Sandro Dembele Bale
Adebayor Defoe
The next month will ask the questions of the ability and resolve of the squad. If we are there or thereabouts come December, when the injured start to return, then progress has been made.
paxton is makes a good point...
gone is the first 15mins onsluaght under 'arry.....
we just play to slow now...its keep ball that goes nowhere...i'm SURE the sytats wld say hellboy had the most touches vs WA'GWAN.....
