lets do this

Yeah not fully convinced, players out of position and not enough in midfield. Nice to see Smalling back and Nani needs to prove Ferguson what he's capable of.

We are playing a diamond

I'd say it's very different, then we had Carrick and Fletcher as well as Giggs and Park to help out in the middle. Tonight we have Anderson with Giggs and Rooney to help out.

We have 9 points on the board which is as many as we got all of last season.

We've just come off a brutal week where we've played Chelsea twice and Arsenal and have a quite tough away game at Villa on Saturday.

I'd say this was a calculated risk from Sir Alex but we just have to trust our squad. 5 of that front 6 did very well at Chelsea but now we have a Wooton and Buttner free defence and Rooney playing.

Not so bad!

I highly doubt it, that formation requires 3 CMs

Glad RVP rested and hope Rooney gets a couple of goals he badly needs

Giggs and Anderson central midfield?! Tonight's going to be fun. Rooney alongside Anderson would probably be the better bet and let Giggs roam behind Hernandez. Mad team. Should have goals in it though.

.............................

How is this a tough game? Tonights game is far tougher.

Villa have lost five at home already this season.

It will be a diamond, believe.

Giggs and Anderson will both score tonight

Sometimes I think SAF draws the players out of a hat, and then tries to fit them in.

All we need is Ando playing quite well of late, and then having his confidence knocked by having bloody Giggs along side him.

Don't know about you guys but I HATE how Giggs is tarnishing his status by playing on.

He's my favourite player (see profile) but he's past it and should have retired.

Don't like to see him getting bad mouthed.

no Jack Buttner tonight!?

Jesus wept, I have only just noticed that he has Valencia at RB.

WTF?

I guess he will have Welbs on the left as well.

This is going to be another long night.

Villa have lost one at home and beat City in the league cup (with quite a strong City team) a couple of weeks ago.

Our key players have played some big games recently so thank god Sir Alex is learning that the best way to keep a squad on their toes is to play one team in he league and one in the cups.

When we get to the knock-out stages we can player better teams in the CL.

Remember, City are basically out of Europe now so will have a much fresher squad in the new year while we play the CL games.

We need to win as many league games now as possible so we have points on the board from Feb onwards to deal with Citys inevitable surge for the title.

Giggs was very good last week against Chelsea though. He was certainly better than Mata on the night.

He might surprise you tonight

Seriously, why has SAF not learned from obvious lessons? Welbs isn't a winger, Valencia isn't a right back and Giggs shouldnt play in a 2 man midfield.
