Wouldn't surprise me at all. Anderson is a confidence player and is at his best when he's driving forward making things happen. I imagine he'll be playing deeper tonight to accommodate Giggs. Could we not have just played Carrick or Cleverley and saved any hassle?

You'd hope so, but with Giggs in midfield it seems unlikely. If we are playing a diamond I'd prefer to see Scholes who can pass a ball. Seems a little unfair on Ando too. We literally have no defensive midfielder.

Come on Rob, it is a very strange team tonight. I think if we had to pick midfield partnerships then Anderson and Giggs would be right at the bottom of the pile. I'm not overly worried just yet but there's nothing wrong with admitting it's a mad team selection.
