I see him going to Arsenal soon. Arsene can then make him a better player and then sell him to Manchester.

You know it! Arsenal the feeder club of Manchester...

Fred, Ince is not in the same league as Zaha.

Nowhere near.

I saw Ince in March, he was average.

Nothing wrong with confidence, however if that quote is true, it's a little over the top to be comparing yourself to world class players who have done it all in the game, when you're only beginning to make your mark. Furthermore it is worse as it is saying that you're better than everybody else, with many of them doing a lot in the game, whilst you've done nothing.

Zaha is going to be a great player, of that I have no doubt, however he has a long way to go before he can make those sort of remarks.

Anyone who knows Wilfred Zaha, will know that the lad did not make that remark, he's a very grounded, level headed, and a quiet youngman.

I think the journalish mixed his interviews up and quoted Suarez, as that sounds more like his trait.

Ah yes, since Suarez regurlarly comments on his ability. Please show me some examples of Suarez saying how great he is.

Another typical fool, who goes out of his way to distance a player who plays for the club he/she supports by getting digs in at other players.

TOOR, sgtbilko might be right. If you look very closely at the photo, you can see that Zaha is sat on Suarez's lap, Zaha's miming and Suarez is throwing his voice.

Its always Suarez's fault.

Zaha said on twitter he made those comments in reference to his pre-match preparation. He said he tells himself he is as good as Messi and Ronaldo before he plays to get him confidence up. If you watch him play you will notice he does all the tricks and fancy flicks like those players so why not tell yourself you're as good as the best if it motivates you? He never said it in an arrogant way or to offend other people. Maybe the journalist got it wrong (but that almost never happens) or maybe the lad didn't explain himself probably the first time.

However I do agree that he should either play for England or not. Why pick a player who isn't even sure if he wants to play for England? Even if someone isn't as technically good as Zaha but cares about playing for his country surely that's a better choice? There should be a rule that says if you've played at international level you should stick with it

"Maybe the journalist got it wrong"

We all know that Zaha could have said it in the most level headed way ever but it will be the actual words that count for the journalist and his non-story. He doesn't care for context, he wants a story.

The only fair law i can think of is that if a player has played under five games for a country, he can switch to another country. I don't think it's fair to make a player commit to one country. Say Zaha commits to England and plays a game, then he doesn't realise his potential but does in fact become the best player in his position for the Ivory Coast. Is it fair that he isn't allow to switch to the Ivory Coast just because he played one game for England?

No, typical Journalist twisting things as usual, same as they did with the Suarez-Evra episode.

Zaha's own words on the Journalist twisting things just to make an untrue story look good for themselves, total bunch of no brain morons.

Official_Zaha.. ‏@yungzaha
My words were absolutely twisted and taken the wrong way in my last interview..

It's certainly not the first time and won't be the last but it is a eye-opener for Zaha and how he has to behave and how he has to talk if he is going to hit the big time.

This is why players like Gerrard, Rooney etc are so boring in interviews. They have to be like that, for fear of words being twisted.

The media disgust me. This is why I don't read newspapers. Full of lies, propaganda, nonsense and t its(literal and journalists).

Yeah he said he was naive and should explain himself better. I think (or I hope) more people are starting to question what they see and hear and not take everything literally. Sometimes I'm amazed at some of the rubbish newspapers come up with. Still, never let the truth get in the way of a good story

This means ARE is easily mislead by what he reads. Maybe this is why he's always negative about FSG.

Give the lad a break, he was 20 last Saturday, and has a lot to learn, especially about Journalists.

Heres a very good and well written article.
It shows the real Zaha, not the pompus arrogant urchin some on here are depicting him as.

As is usual, the Journo's are building a non story with which to beat him with later.
He's a tricky winger and his end product is gradually improving.
I see a fair bit of him and he is capable of turning a game in an instant.
I somehow don't see him as a regular in the England set up though as England seem to stifle any flair players.
To be honest, I think he is a way off of International class at this stage of his career. I won't complain though if all this adds to his value.
I truly hope that he carries on learning and enjoying his progression at Palace and helps us get to the promised land and if we do, then he might stay a bit longer.

Note....he can be a bit petulant as well...

listen to radio 5live's monday night club. they say he's very quiet off the pitch. yes he's confident on the pitch but for gods sake that is why he's so good. if he had the confidence downing has, he'd be rubbish!

hype and huge ego? And this is coming from the Club that states every bloody season that they’re gonna Win the Premiership. But that’s Liverpool for you I guess

To be fair, I thought Scousers were against the newspapers?

‘I hope he does but last season he was dross.’ Would be interested how you worked that out? I attended all CPFC games last season, so please tell me which ones you attended for you to concluded that dross of a statement. :/

You’ve probably never met Wilfried Zaha to back up these ridiculous allegations, I have loads of times before & after matches, and I can tell you he’s one of the most calmest, easy to get on with, down to earth players I’ve seen/ met in football. And he’s usually shy, so if his confidence is starting to build then that’s kudos to Wilf, believing in his ability, as so he should! Gimme any forward that doesn’t have some kind of ego?! However, I’d have to diminishthese thoughts of him having an attitude!
I can see slur Fergie helping his son out at Posh, by trying to buy Wilf, then loaning to Jr to save his job, as Zaha & Co. tore-up London Road last Saturday, to remain back at the top of the Championship tree. But, in reality, can’t see Zaha being interested in m@nure.

But, posters like JimmyTheRed (U1682) are welcomed to see Zaha live.

By the way, I was by the bloke that told one of your Liverpool scouts, that Zaha was suspended http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2076797/Peter-Beardsley-goes-watch-suspended-Wilfried-Zaha.html

Well, he’s played his part - what was a struggling Club these last few seasons, to get back up the right side of the table. Similar to Stevie G at Liverpool, espically when they fought back & Won the Champions League in 2005. And are you talking about FAT Ronaldo? Or w!nker Ronaldo? As him & Messi are yet to Win the World Cup – & Ronaldo messed up his chances of Winning the 2004 Euro! Therefore, they haven’t done it all - To be fair.
