Because Downing may well be in defence, which is fine. And Henderson did not have an excellent game, he was just better than usual, which isn't saying much.
Wait, people are saying Downing and Henderson are starting...what's the lineup?
I don't get starting Hendo and Downing above Shelvey i have to say. I think the lad is streets ahead of the pair of them.
Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Downing, Suarez, Sterling.
Subs: Jones, Carragher, Coates, Suso, Sahin, Cole, Shelvey.
Ah good, the "supporters" are here. Can you not at least wait until after the game before slating half the players?
Both Henderson and Downing (who I've been pretty fierce critics of) have played well the last couple of games. Henderson changed the game against Wigan.
No complaints about Enrique then? Or have you decided he's good this week?
Shelvey is supposed to be our attacking option off the bench I suppose....
Enrique was excellent against Wigan, and if he's playing on the wing again then all the better.
Ah. Well I must say, I'm happy with that lineup. Downing's attitude has improved a lot in recent weeks and he played well last week. Henderson also. I'd prefer Henderson over Shelvey as for me it's either Gerrard or Shelvey, as Allen needs more help against a good counter attacking Swansea. Downing is probably prefered to Suso as Rodgers wants to double up on Dyer.
Williams starts at centre-back for Swansea - him vs Suarez could be an interesting match-up.

I feel the same. It's getting annoying.
Well said Didi...

Seconded. Even if I am probably guilty of what he's saying.
Remember we play Spurs midweek
Guys we have Spurs away wednesday, that maybe why hendo and downing have come in; also tbf both have played ok as well.
Damnit I was hoping Enrique would be played wing again. Messing with my fantasy footy.
Good to see Glen return to right back, we get the best out of him there.
A win could put us into eighth above Spurs and two behind Arsenal, if Spurs lose or draw today.
Real chance to close the gap, think i'd take a point though. Tough place to come, keep the unbeaten run going.
I don't like to say this but for me today is a must win. If we got momentum going into the Spurs game and won that, we'd give ourselves a great footing for going into very winnable games over December.
Comment on the BBC:
Dale Wright on Twitter: "Has Rodgers found an old teamsheet in the 'Outbox' tray in the manager's office from Hodgson's days in there...?"
Is this being deliberately stupid?!
Hate to be negative TOOR but I can't see us winning today or Wednesday.
Looks like normal system to me.
