I thought Giroud had his best game in general play (Touch, link up play etc) vs Villa until he tired out (New to the league needs time to adjust physically)

Chamakh is a great technical player but scared of shooting and was dropped for RVP

Bendtner again had RVP in front of him only way we could play him was on the wings

Bendtner played well on the right wing until he got that injury vs Spurs

Giroud's only problem so far has been that he isn't RVP

"Bendtner played well on the right wing until he got that injury vs Spurs "
He was OK but was still the wrong position for him. We have had so many strikers suited to 4-4-2 and yet persist in playing 4-3-3, all to accomodate a player (as admittedly special one) who is no longer with us. That is the frustrating thing.

Chamack and Bendtner are poor strikers. Giroud isn't the best going around but he is far better then the two.

We desperatley need a striker in Jan

I always thought Bendtner and Vela could strike up a really good partnership. The ball winner and the poacher.

Bendtner is probably the best in the air amongst the three and also the best with the ball at his feet although we say he is lazy.

Completely disagree. Would say Bendtner is the worse, particuarly with the ball at his feet. Absolute carthorse.

Chamakh won the league at Bordeaux he was available on a free

Chamakh played quite well for us until Jan (Winter break)

Gervinho's stats for Lille were impressive every French pundit thought he would be a success.

Guess some players can't adapt to English football

Cazorla, Podolski, Guroud are new to English football they aren't used to the pace/intensity of playing 2/3 games a week and playing through Christmas

Robert Pires said he needed 4 months

Different country, new language/culture

To be fair, Bendtner was reasonable and scored some important goals. The difference though is one of attitude and to claim you'll be the better than Ibrahimovic in two years is just stupid. If it weren't for that he'd probably not have gone out on loan again.

He is better than Chamakh no doubt about that. Still think Bendtner had something to offer us but he has done fack all at Juve and cut his bridges with us, don't think there is any way back for him now. Was a mistake letting him go to Sunderland in all honesty.

Great article

I agree with everything you wrote

Sadly enough alot of dumb fans will slate this

Chamakh's career tailing off was a bit unfortunate since he was the sacrificial lamb to accomodate RVP when he returned from injury (which BTW was necessary given how he then turned in the best spell of his career). Chamakh would again be great in a 4-4-2 since he is good at winning headers and playing flicks etc. And he is actually a pretty hard working player when on form (and not making appearances for 10 minutes, once every 10 games)

If (and thats a big IF) we buy a striker in January who is a hit, then I can guarantee Giroud will become another Chamakh.

My point is that we could have gotten a more rounded striker rather than someone similar to what we already have.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I remember people saying we should have sold RVP and made Chamakh our number 1 striker

To answer the OP's question: yes.

I think Chamakh is better as Bendtner. Why Batmanu think otherwise is beyond me. Chamakh had only one problem at Arsenal. He had the ahead of him.

Giroud scored 21 league goals in France, Ligue 1s top scorer

You have completely dismissed his goal record for Montpellier and why we bought him in the first place lol

Why do people keep mentioning Bendtner?

He can’t even make the Juve bench. If it is the club’s ambition to improve, bringing Bendtner back is not the way to move forward.

While Giroud is no RvP he is streets ahead of Bendtner & Chamakh.

Giroud only scored 1 header last season. It isn't as if his feet are deformed.

Fair enough Stu, but completely disagree. Watch most Arsenal games, literally the only decent game I ever saw from Bendtner was his game against Championship side Leeds. He scored against Barca but should of had 2, and his general play was awful.

Chamakh looked as good as Giroud everytime he played, until he was restricted to 10 minute cameo's and CC/FA Cup appearance with the likes of Denilson et all behind him
