He was definitely clipped as he ran passed the defender but I think his reputation got to the ref and hence the yellow card

of Suarez and Gerrard. I admit Gerrard doesn't dive as much as he used to,but he still goes down easy. His cheating was never shown on MOTD. I don't think the papers do embellish Suarez reputation,but I think rival fans do though.

I say what I think, I give my opinion,no how many people tell me they disagree. Others run away when they have been met by opposition to their opinion, when there'smore than one person. They play to the crowd, for lack of a better term, trying to make people like them. I don't care about that. I don't care who likes me, I'm here for debate.

Just because someone puts up a YouTube clip, or collection of clips, with the title Suarez dives doesn't mean it's proof. That's someone's opinion, especially when the clips show one ambiguous angle. A perfect example of the press embellishing Suarez's reputation was the reaction to his dive at Stoke. He got battered for it and rightly so. But the press went one further in claiming this was a weekly occurance, which its not. They also made out that Suarez was the only player who dives. This was fuelled further by a FIFA delegate claiming Suarez's actions are a 'cancer on the game'. On the very same day Bale dived against Villa, without the same furore and outrage.

Like I said Bale dives more than Suarez, why does he still win free kicks if a ref is considering reputation when making a decision?

They're as bad as each other. How many times has Suarez been booked for diving? Not as many as Bale. Why is that if Suarez's being singled out? Suarez should of been sent off a couple of times this season,why hasn't he if he's been singled out? The press may favour the Welshman over Uruguayan,but Gerrard has been treated like a hero by them for years,even though he's one of the biggest hypocrites in the game.

Suarez hasn't been booked as many times as Bale because he hasn't dived as many times. But this is missing the point. A more pertinent question is how many free kicks, or penalties, has Suarez been denied in comparison to Bale? If, like you say, refs consider reputation. Why is Bale awarded free kicks, but Suarez isn't?

There have also been plenty of players that should have been sent of for fouls on Suarez. Huth being one, the Norwich defender who elbow chopped him in the area being another.

Why do you keep bringing Gerrard up? What's that got to do with anything?, apart from further highlight the different attitudes towards homegrown players and those from abroad. It is funny you keep bringing Gerrard up though. He did used to dive, but has cut it out of his game. Ring any bells?

Even if he didn't dive, he still made a t!t out of himself with that disgraceful show of unsporting behaviour when he nicked the ball off Johnson when he was about to boot it up towards Lloris after the drop ball. He's a little idiot.

I never said there wasn't. Why should a player who cheats be given the same treatment as an honest player? Suarez never seems to get booked for diving,yet we all know he does it. He didn't even get booked for the double salmon leap against Stoke. I know the ref should enter a game with an open mind, but if he's seen a tackle and he's only 50/50,then why should a cheat be given the element of doubt.

Cos that's the very reason te ref is there.

Refs are only human,so if he's not sure if it was a foul then why favour the cheat, especially if the player in question has made a mug of him before.

This is exactly the point I've been making. The press have come out and called Suarez a cheat. Refs have not given him pens and free kicks because of this reputation. If refs are affected by the reputation of a player, why does Bale still get free kicks etc awarded to him? Why are refs not affected by his reputation as a diver, or a cheat?

Because Bale isn't a foreigner so the xenophobic media, brainwash the xenophobic referees, into thinking they're doing a good job if they don't allow themselves to see them being fouled.

Bale might win more free-kicks (I don't know if that's true),but he's also been booked for diving,where Suarez doesn't,so he doesn't get it all his own way. I believe they're as bad as each other.

Suarez hasn't been booked for diving this season, largely because he has only done it once. The one dive that he did was a delayed reaction to a foul, so maybe he should have been booked, maybe not.

However, Suarez received numerous bookings for diving last season, some of which were incorrectly given.

I think I remember Suarez getting booked once for being fouled, this season.
