True, inconsistency, but continually erring on the poor side. Rarely convincing.
Last season teams only needed a shot on goal to beat us. We had few answers when questions were asked of us. Many aspects the same this season.

Billy fequently said the squad 'wasn't ready for the PL' and you probably loved him.
Double standards.
The thing is Boxer, he may have said that but the team produced the goods on the pitch. This year we have a squad which is on paper would wipe the floor with our squad that finished 3rd but it will only work if you can get someone to get them working and i am starting to think that SOD can't do it!
What about the games we didn't deserve to lose, or only got a draw from? It has to work both ways, and as far as I care we are about par for the team we have. I fully expect 3-4 new faces in the January window, and really it's only after that that SOD can be judged fairly.
Have some patience please.
I see what you're getting at SBS, but to quote Billy;
DON'T LOOK AT THE TABLE TIL JANUARY

DON'T LOOK AT THE TABLE TIL JANUARY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
True but the problem is I can't see us being any further up the table then we are now. We have been yo yoing from 7th -12th for the last 3 months now!
Your silly comments:
1. SOD out of his depth.
2. If things don't improve he should be replaced.
3. Never mind the team, I think this manager isn't as good as people think!
4. I am starting to think that SOD can't do it!
What a load of B------. if you don't mind me saying
Give Sean time and 100% support and he will come up with the goods. OK it was a poor result today, relax it happens.
The thing about a site like this is that the whingers never come back and say “Sorry I got it wrong” when results come good. They just disappear into the back ground.
Sean's family read this trash and they find it quite hurtful I know because it happened at Donny.
My view on Sean is that he is the best manager around. He will get Forest in to the top 6 in the end this season. Will he spend ridiculous amounts of money? No he wont.
My advice is to give him 100% support he will succeed , of course there will be set backs but he is the right man in the right place.
You lucky people.
Wow, back to back defeats and people are calling for his head. Comments on the vital are more arrogant. Where were people when we beat wolves and wednesday? barely anyone came on the board but with the ipswitch and hull games everyone is quick to criticize SoD and his methods.
We are incosistant. End of. Physical teams are a harder outfit to play against and from what i can piece together since i didnt go to the game, we shouldn't have lost but none of this looks to be pointing solely at SoD.
Again, i've made an article on this, with the number of changes we gone through, not just with the players coming in during august, but the crucial injuries we've have since then, theres no wonder we've had issues. SoD is lucky to play the same 11 twice in a row, nevermind his 'best' 11. Wait till January when ayala, raddi, and cox are all back and had time to actually play with the team.
Because after last season, being 4 points off the playoffs with 26 games to go is disgraceful, isn't it?
Take you BBB thread elsewhere
And for those that booed yesterday.....
Stay at home nest week please

Let's be right here. We were very very lucky to get anything against wendesday. Of our last four games 3 have been awful performances.
The passing football we saw the team trying to play as all but gone. A few passes around the back four then a long ball up to little Billy Sharp. When your a work in progress your supposed to improve. We've got worse.
It's not good enough. I booed yesterday but I also sat towards the back of A Block and was one of a few trying get some sort atmosphere going, while the rest of you "positive" people were looking at the lower bridgeford thinking I'd make some noise if I was sat there.
The team performe to something like its best and they won't get booed. And if the "positive" majority what to have a go at people then support your team duing he game and make some noise, the atmosphere was a disgrace yesterday
His tactics clearly aren't working! Far too many midfielders with no width, it's not rocket science. If all your players are tripping over each other in central midfield and there's no penetration from the wide areas then the likelihood is we ll only score goals from long shots and long shots and our strikers will be starved. That's exactly what's happening, 3 of the best strikers in our league and yet we re the lowest scoring home team. One up front yesterday was pure daft. SOD needs to sort himself out fast or else sling his hook. We re at halfway point in the season and yet we chop and change ridiculously with some excellent players struggling to get a start whilst certain others seem undropable?? Not good enough...
Looks like we are splitting into 2 again.
I think that some of you on here think we were going to walk this league. A very tough league where on the day if equipped right poor teams can beat the best.
I don't want a change in manager. It will do the team no good at all. Performances are not consistant enough but show me a team that has been consistant in this league, this season, so far. We are top 10 and I'm happy to support the manager and team. Afterall we have put up with some crap over the last few years including some under Davies
Maybe some of the posters on this board should become Chelsea fans if they are so keen on changing the manager every few months.
I'd be happy to have SOD for three years if he brings stability and a footballing ethos to the club. He is a good coach and should be given time before a decision is made as to his ability to get us to the 'Promised Land'
I do know that under his guidance we will finish this season higher than we did last season, and start next season in good shape. The minimum he should be given is another twelve months.

I don't think anyone thought we'd walk the league.
Personally I'm not saying sack SoD but I'd expect to see an improving team. But I think we're getting worse. We're playing badly more often than we're playing well and few of our players are playing close to the best of their ability.
We should be seeing signs we're moving forward but we aren't. That's the worrying thing. You don't get to have the backing SoD has had without pressure to get results.
And all this I'd give him years and we're better off than last season stuff is fine in an ideal world. Every year we're in this league we're £20m in debt at this rate or the owners are going to have write that off.
It's not going to happen lads. It's all a lot more urgent than some of you think IMO.
alexmyhero - I agree entirely.
Give SO'D a fair crack of the whip.

Since SoD arrived I've been mildly confused by some of his signings. Our squad is more unbalanced now than I remember it ever being. I know he had little time to get his feet under the table but I hope that in January he takes a more measured look at whats needed instead of the scatter gun approach that was deployed, albeit necessarily, in the summer. Signings that concern me most: Dan Harding. We've not had a left back in but even with moderately wealthy backing we've seen the likes of Nicky Shorey, Ryan Bertrand, Paul Konchesky, G Elokobi, and G Cunningham playing here, all of whom (even Konch) are better than Harding. Lets look at the facts - the first thing Southampton did when it looked like they might have a shot at promotion is replace Harding with Danny Fox. Greg Halford has been loathed by Portsmouth and Reading supporters during his time with the clubs. Both these signing for me suggest that SoD isn't particularly well connected in the transfer market. These are signings that imply we're trying to get promoted on the cheap, and for a club like Forest that is not particularly realistic because players who can deal the kind of expectation they find here cost a premium.

Time was at a premium, who was available? Did we get our first choice back 4 players? Are they/some of them make do until there is a opportunity to recruit better?
With regards to having too many midfielders,we were in no position to offload contracted players if nobody approached us to buy them, also SOD may have wanted to give them a chance to prove themselves, should we have past up the chance to buy players like Lansbury and Geddy and waited until we offloaded some first?
I don't think Jenas was bought in at the request of SOD,I feel it was more of a loan signing for the fans.
We've conceded 26 goals so far, with a defence that was hastily put together and added to with loanees. We have not been able to field the same back four due to injuries, and yet that's only ONE goal more than Cardiff, who are top.
We are still far from the finished article, and I guarantee you that we will sign more players in January, so stop moaning that we aren't top of the league, and have some patience.
