Uefa president Aleksander Cerefin says it has a "concrete plan" for finishing the European season "in August".

BBC Sport reported last month that the Champions League and Europa League are likely to be played in that month.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals are expected to be played over two legs.

The head of European football's governing body told BeIN Sports: "As things look now, I'm sure that we can finish the European season and this means Uefa competition."

There are two main playing fields with a sloping bank between them. The eastern entry to the park is dominated by a memorial gateway dedicated to Sir George Fowlds. To the south and west of the gateway is a grove of mature trees and a landscaped rock outcrop.

A workshop used by Dame Barbara Hepworth has been granted Grade II-listed status, Historic England says.

The Palais de Danse, a former cinema and dance hall she bought in 1961, was the sculptor's biggest work space in her adopted hometown of St Ives.

She used the space, which was opposite her home, to create prototypes of major commissions, often cast in bronze.

The announcement comes in the week marking the 45th anniversary of Hepworth's death in 1975, aged 72.

Basketball legend Michael Jordan's autographed trainers from 1985 sold for a record $560,000 (£463,000) in an online auction.

The Nike Air Jordan 1s, worn by Jordan during his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls, were expected to fetch between $100,00-$150,000 at Sotheby's.

The previous record was $437,500 for a pair of Nike's 1972 Moon Shoes.

Jordan wore mismatched trainers, with the left a size 13 and the right a size 13.5.

The Air Jordan 1s were sold by Jordan Geller, who founded the trainer museum Shoezeum in Las Vegas.

The sale coincided with a Netflix documentary - The Last Dance - with behind-the-scenes footage of the Bulls' hunt for a sixth NBA title in the 1997-98 season.

Japan has fallen into recession as the financial toll of the coronavirus continues to escalate.

The world's third biggest economy shrank 3.4% in the first three months of 2020 compared to a year ago, its biggest slump since 2015.

The coronavirus is wreaking havoc on the global economy with an estimated cost of up to $8.8tn (£7.1tn).

Last week, Germany slipped into recession as more major economies face the impact of sustained lockdowns.

Japan didn't go into full national lockdown but issued a state of emergency in April severely affecting supply chains and businesses in the trade-reliant nation.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has warned cuts to public spending after coronavirus "would be catastrophic".

The Most Reverend Justin Welby called for politicians to be "brave and courageous" as they sought to deal with the economic and social consequences of the lockdown.

In response to spiralling public debt he said "going for austerity again would be the most terrible mistake".

Estimates suggest the crisis could cost up to £298bn for this financial year.

The Office for Budget Responsibility which keeps tabs on government spending, made the estimate for the figure for the final bill, for April 2020 to April 2021.

More than half a million people have accessed online training that aims to prevent suicide in the last three weeks alone, a charity has said.

The Zero Suicide Alliance said 503,000 users completed its online course during lockdown. It aims to help spot the signs that a person may need help.

It comes as health leaders warned front-line workers tackling coronavirus could suffer from mental ill health.

NHS England launched a mental health hotline to support staff last month.

An elderly Welsh woman now living in the United States has spoken Welsh for the first time in 40 years after a lockdown social media appeal.

Ray McDermott, 96, who is originally from Carmarthenshire but who has lived in the US for 70 years, was worried she would never speak it again.

But Ray, of Ohio, has now been able to connect with Welsh speakers after her son, Keith, asked for help online.

"It actually brought tears to my eyes," she said.

Ray spent her childhood in Llandeilo, in Carmarthenshire, Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, and Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, before marrying an American soldier, Jim McDermott, when she was 18 and later setting sail for a new life in the US.

The fate of the Scottish Premiership season is likely to be decided on Monday at an SPFL board meeting.

The top flight campaign is expected to be curtailed, with Celtic crowned as champions and Hearts relegated on a points-per-game basis.

The SPFL and Scottish FA have received the letter of assurance from Uefa that an early finish will not mean forfeiting European places.

However, some outstanding issues mean a decision could be delayed.

Celtic have been confirmed as Scottish Premiership champions for the ninth season in a row - and Hearts relegated - after the SPFL ended the season.

The decision was taken at a board meeting on Monday after the 12 clubs agreed at the end of last week that completing the campaign was unfeasible.

Average points per game played has been used to determine final placings.

The only change to the table from when football was halted on 13 March sees St Johnstone go sixth, above Hibernian.

Celtic were 13 points ahead of nearest challengers Rangers - having played a game more - when the season was put into abeyance. Like most teams in the division, Neil Lennon's side still had eight games to play.

Hearts were four adrift of Hamilton Academical at the bottom with a possible 24 points available.

However, the Tynecastle club do hold slim hopes of a reprieve after chair Ann Budge was given approval to work on a proposal for temporary league reconstruction, which would involve expanding the top flight.

Hampden will be able to stage rearranged Euro 2020 games next summer and Glasgow is not one of three host cities whose involvement is in doubt.

Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin said three of the 12 venues had "issues".

And reports in Germany claimed Glasgow was one of those unable to hold games initially scheduled for next month.

But Scotland's largest city is not one of those and Uefa have been told that it will fulfil its commitment to hold three group games and one last-16 tie.

The owner of High Street restaurant chains Cafe Rouge and Bella Italia has filed intent to appoint administrators at the High Court.

Owner Casual Dining Group, whose brands also include the Las Iguanas chain, employs about 6,000 people.

The company said the move would give it ten days breathing space to consider "all options" for restructuring.

Restaurants have been hit hard after shutting their doors in March as part of Britain's virus lockdown.

Earlier on Monday, Casual Dining Group said that it is working with advisers from corporate finance firm AlixPartners over a potential restructuring programme.

Manager Neil Lennon says leading Celtic to their ninth title in a row is his best achievement in football - and he wants to top it with an unprecedented 10th consecutive championship.

The Glasgow side were crowned champions on a points-per-game average on Monday when the SPFL ended the season.

Lennon says the title is "fully deserved" as he eyes further glory.

"Even when I took over and we got to eight, people were talking about 10," said Lennon.

"We had to get the nine first and thankfully that's been accomplished now.

"We can go for 10 now, because I know that's been on the tip of a lot of our supporters' tongues.

"The supporters are talking about 10, and we can now go for the 10."
