The owner of Poundland has agreed to take on the leases of dozens of Wilko shops.
Pepco Group, which owns Poundland in the UK, is expected to convert up to 71 Wilko stores to the Poundland brand.
Poundland boss Barry Williams said it recognised the last few weeks had been difficult for Wilko workers.
In a statement, the company said that Wilko staff would have priority when applying for new jobs at the Poundland shops.
Wilko fell into administration in August as it struggled with sharp losses and a cash shortage.
It was founded in 1930 and by the 1990s became one of Britain's fastest-growing retailers.
But the discount chain has faced strong competition from competitors including B&M, Poundland and Home Bargains, as the high cost of living has pushed shoppers to seek out bargains.
The first Wilko shop closures are taking place today after administrators PwC failed to find a buyer for the bulk of the business.
England continued their modern-day superiority in the 150-year rivalry with Scotland by beating their in-form hosts in a friendly at a raucous Hampden.
The Scots last triumphed in this fixture in 1999, but hopes of a 42nd win appeared ominously faint as Phil Foden's opener silenced the national stadium before the terrific Jude Bellingham was gifted a second three minutes later.
A shaken Scotland eventually awoke the home crowd as Harry Maguire's lazy leg sent Andy Robertson's cross screeching beyond Aaron Ramsdale.
However, England's classy play and intricate movement would pay once more as Harry Kane slotted home the visitors' third after a mesmeric Bellingham assist.
The first official meeting between these two took place on 30 November 1872 at the West of Scotland Cricket Club.
Six miles and 150 years on, this great rivalry captured the imagination of a Scottish public with a yearning for victory founded in genuine optimism.
Top of their European Championship group with five wins from five and facing an England team held by Ukraine on Saturday, head coach Steve Clarke spoke pre-match about the desire to see how much his team had narrowed the gap.
In the end, a fluid and ruthless first half from Gareth Southgate's team offered a sobering reply. The visitors were slick, composed and in control and deserved the lead when it eventually arrived.
Kyle Walker lashed the ball towards the Scotland goal from inside the area, only for Foden's quick thinking and feet helping the ball divert beyond Angus Gunn.
Scotland barely had a chance to gather themselves before it was two. An uncharacteristic lack of composure from Robertson saw an attempted clearance prodded towards Bellingham on the penalty spot to scud home.
The introduction of Ryan Christie after the break breathed life into a flat Scotland, and the lifeline via the unfortunate Maguire ignited a fire inside Clarke's side as England rocked.
But Bellingham's class would show once more. With nine minutes to go, the Real Madrid man danced by two trailing dark blue jerseys, slipped the ball to his captain, and Bayern Munich's leading man made no mistake.

“We weren’t up to the mark.” With that declaration, bruising lock, and occasional blindside flanker, Scott Barrett set the tone for week two of the Rugby World Cup for an All Blacks team with a lot to put right, and not much in the way of opposition in sight to do it against.

After 26 years and 137 caps Ildefons Lima has played his last game for Andorra - ending the longest career in men's international football.
The 43-year-old made his Andorra debut aged 17 in a 4-1 loss to Estonia in 1997, scoring in the nation's second ever official fixture.
He has played in every decade since and on Tuesday he started his final international match, a 3-0 defeat by Switzerland.
After 23 minutes he was substituted and was given a standing ovation by Swiss and Andorran supporters as he left the field.
He was replaced by Ricard Fernandez Betriu, a team-mate who was born almost two years after his international debut.
"Congratulations to Andorra's Ildefons Lima on an incredible journey, the longest national team career ever," Uefa wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In 2021, Guinness World Records claimed Lima had achieved the longest international playing career.
The women's record for the longest international career is held by former Brazil midfielder Formiga, 45, who played for 26 years between 1995-2021 and made 234 appearances.
Before the match against Switzerland, Lima called the fixture "the last dance" in a social media post.
The centre-back is the third European footballer to be capped in four different decades, joining Welsh international Billy Meredith and Finland's Jari Litmanen.

Head coach Ian Foster says New Zealand's Pool A match with Namibia on Friday is "vital" for his side "to grow" after they lost to France in their World Cup opener.
The three-time winners were beaten 27-13 by the hosts in Paris on Friday.
It was their first pool-stage defeat at a World Cup, ending a 31-match winning record.
"[The Namibia match] is a key game for us to get right and we've selected accordingly," added Foster.
"We are expecting a very tough Namibian side to test us on Friday. While we were disappointed with the result in the first round, it hasn't moved our focus from what we need to do to in our pool games.
"This game is vital for us to grow and we can't wait to get to Toulouse and test ourselves."
Namibia, who lost 52-8 to Italy in their opener, have never won a match at a World Cup, losing 22 times since their debut in 1999.
Four years ago the Welwitschias were beaten 71-9 by the All Blacks in the pool stages in Japan.
"The Italy game was a big challenge for us, especially in the set-piece. Hopefully it will be better," said Namibia head coach Allister Coetzee.
"We have to throw more punches. New Zealand is a top nation. Our plan is to stop the momentum and break their rhythm."

Uruguay hit back through a Nicolas Freitas try before Antoine Hastoy crossed for France.
Baltazar Amaya threatened a Uruguay comeback but Peato Mauvaka and Louis Bielle-Biarrey sealed the win.
A second victory in as many games moved France a step closer to the quarter-finals as Uruguay began their campaign with their best result against a tier one nation at the World Cup.
Les Blues resume their tour of the country against Namibia in Marseille in their next Pool A match on 21 September, while the South Americans face Italy in Nice the night before.

Port Talbot's steelworks will be given up to £500m by the UK government in a bid to keep the plant open and produce steel in a greener way, but it could see thousands lose their jobs.
Tata Steel will add £700m of its own as it invests in cutting emissions. It has asked ministers to provide a bigger chunk of the cost.
But the package could mean as many as 3,000 job losses across the UK.
The site in south Wales is home to Britain's biggest steelworks.
The steelworks features two blast furnaces working around the clock to produce steel used in everything from tin cans to submarines.
But it is also one of the UK's largest polluters.
