Gazza, word of advice, DON'T WUM METRO. He takes it personally.

......

Hmmm, strange response. Don't take anything personally on here.

Ask the admins, i complain about no comments and have never used filter options.

You don't like the fact that i brought up history in a thread which conveniently.... Is about history.

Plus, its tagged on our board so how dare i bring up our sensational history

The only ppl getting personal are the ones referring to european bans

I'm a little disappointed in you there TP

Metro, so that isn't part of Liverpools history?

Greatness does not have to be humble. That's such a moralistic take.

Oh so talking about history is getting personal now?

strange ideas you have about what constitutes history

And there was me thinking History was about the Romans, Henry the 8th, The Spanish Armarda and the Gunpowder Plot - my mistake - just goes to show how wrong you can be!

And I won't mention the fact that Chelsea won a major European Trophy 2 years before Liverpool!!

Metro,

From past experience, i know how a vastly different opinion from yr own can wind you up. I was actually gunna debate with you about your comments on Liverpool's patch of dominance being so how better than United's or Madrid's but thought better of it.

It's obvious to me that most of the contributors to this post lack a bit of history themselves. Clearly too young to remember the likes of Osgood, Hutchinson, the great Charlie Cooke, Hollins, Harris etc.
Chelsea, along with most clubs, have a rich history. Maybe a little research by the morons who think otherwise, may be in order.

we do in fact hold the record for biggest ground attendance against dynamo moscow i believe in the 50s with an attendance coming close to 90.000 supporters at stamford bridge.
-------------------------------------------------------------

1946 - Attendance actually believed to be around 120,000!

TP........ironically agreeing not to argue

posted on 4/12/12

No worries ifarka

If my facts are correct they had to shut the gates at between 90 - 100,000 but thousands more managed to gain illegal access to the ground and the final figure was estimated at about 120,000!

Also of note Chelsea still hold the highest aggregate score in European competition dating back to 1972, beating Jeneussee Hautcharage (excuse spelling) 21-0, 13 - 0 at home and 0 - 8 away!

No TP, you've always hated my superior knowledge. That's got nothing to do with taking things personally.

That's life. I know more about football than you and Liverpool will always be bigger than Chelsea

Now please stop getting wound up lads. Can't we all just get along. Can't help the fact tha we are a footballing juggernaut

....

Not really. It was always going to plateau and then dip when football became about the rich.

The fact that we still have managed to collect
4 league cups
3 Fa cups
2 super cups
Uefa cup
European cup

In an apparent 'baren' spell amidst all the new takeovers means its probably the most successul baren spell in footballing history

You took my last comment about taking things personally, personally

To talk seriously for a moment. A big difference between Liverpool and Chelsea fans is we appreciate the history of LFC, it's incredibly rich. I'm not talking about the stereotypical plastic definition of history Liverpool's fans waffle on about, meaning most trophies in a club existence (what a shallow way to judge a club by), real history can never be erased that easily.... e.g. United taking only 21 years to overhaul Liverpool's top flight record.

Things like CFC being the first footballing organisation to be portrayed in cinema, first team to wear squad numbers on our shirts, first English club to qualify for European competition (though we had to withdraw), being the only club to win the top division in both the 50th and 100th years of existence, participating in the last old Wembley and the first new Wembley finals - winning both matches, etc... that's genuine tradition, breakthroughs into society and established pieces of record which won't EVER be erased

When Liverpool fans speak about history in the context they do, they're abusing the term and doing themselves and their club a disservice by identifying their clubs as nothing more than a spent force.
