Yes, I rate him as I do others who seem to hold no standing on here.

Is it or is everyone going miles over the top wrt Hazard last night? When I first heard it I thought it was Cantona type case but there is nothing to it. The ball boy (boy? He is 17!!!!!) lay on the ball to stop Hazard getting it. JT tried and then saw the ball and tried to get it out with his foot. Nothing in it at all. I'm not even sure he should have been sent off. Occasionally a player falls on the ball on the pitch and an opposition player kicks away. Nothin happens then other than a drop ball. Crazy.

Not sure how JT got in there. Blooming predictive text. Typical of him though.

It's purely the fact that it was someone outside of the actual match that resulted in the red card.

If it was a streaker, or a manager (maybe not laying on the ball, but you know what I mean) or if the linesman for some reason had picked up the ball, and a player went to kick it from them, then they would be likely to get sent off.

I'm sure you've seen players sent off before for tripping streakers so the police could catch them, or accosting a fan that has run onto the pitch. Can't think of any specific examples right now, but I know it's happened. It's the rules.

Not convinced about there being any examples tbh but what I really am annoyed about is the press and others saying Hazard kicked out at the boy. He wasn't kicking at the boy, he wad kicking at the ball which the boy was incorrectly hanging on to in order to waste time. If he was doing the job he was supposed to, I.e. getting the ball back to the players nothing would have happened.

Guv - I'm with you on this one.

Too much emphasis on the ballboy and not the fact the he was covering the ball against a player who wanted to help his team that were losing.

Apparantly the 'boy' even tweeted before the game that he will time-waste.

If Hazard gets a lengthy ban, it will be so wrong.

Just showing that things have happened before, albeit rare. Totally agree, they were both in the wrong. If Hazard doesn't give the 'boy' the opportunity to fall on the ball and fake an injury then it wastes what, 10 seconds? which would be added on.

Hazard is stupid for thinking what he did would be accepted. Whether he kicked the ball and didn't touch the boy at all or not.

That incident also overshadows the dive by Demba Ba that he so perfectly replicated from Ramires the previous week

Seems people are polarized on this. Either the ball boy got what he deserved or Hazard should be hung. Nothing in-between it seems.

They have spoken, apologised to each other and put an end to it. So should everyone else. Give Hazard his mandatory 3 match ban for the red card and move on.
