Or the season before when we humiliated you at Anfield and knocked 7 goals past you over the 2 legs, or the season before that when we dumped you out of Europe again and Drogba showed Fat Controller what he is capable of? The thing that separates Luka from being a flop from Nando is:

1) he's younger and has more time to adapt
2) with Torres we had the problem of him and Didier, we don't have such problem with Modric
3) we weren't in need of a new striker, while we are crying out for a new midfielder
4) Modric's role is to set the tempo in midfield, not to play in behind Torres. That's either for someone who specialises in that role (we're strongly linked with Pastore) or forwards either side of Torres.
5) Torres didn't suit our system and our players didn't know how to get te eat out of him. Modric is part of AVB's new style

yeah all right CSTP im sotirios kyrgiakos' long lost cousin and am considered a rough diamond in the reserves but i cant tell you my name because its top secret oh and you just pointed out differences between the two players and their positions not the fundamental issue at question here
