Was it Pat Nevin who accused the Celtic fans of coughing during the Ibrox Disaster Memorial?

Quebec: No, but it was Nevin who backed up Rob Mclean over claims that Celtic fans were singing 'sectarian songs' at the Cup Final.
ps, not being pedantic, by the way!

How does this fit in with the new fight against sectarianism?

I think that may have been 'journalist' Bill Leckie.

i really cant stand leckie but he was correct about that, he is the only one with the devinas to say it

I stand corrected.CE, ya auld pedant.

That's right the sectarian songs.
But they had to do that to even things up after Rangers got pulled up by UEFA.

That some people coughed on a cold January afternoon in Scotland? Really brave stuff from the heroic Bill there. The truth was he was raging that the silence was respected and thats what he was reduced to.

Harvey, that's my feelings EXACTLY.

Imagine folk coughing in Glasgow in January.

Something sinister going on with that coughing.
I think he was angry because he had written his story before the game.

Any Clyde 1 Scoreboard listeners on here tonight? Was Darly King, who wrote the Lennon piece, on it tonight and did he get chinned by anybody for his article?

Ted, are you a "journalist"?

Naw the retraction was too quick.

I must admit I still buy the Daily Rebel and have today's copy but that's it for me. I will no longer give them the money for it, though I know these papers will survive without my 40p I wonder how much their circulation has dropped lately. Time for the clubs to exclude their jurnos. Would be so funny to see Trainor an the like get turned away at the door.

I think the clubs should also ban their players from giving the interviews.
That would be good as most footballers are quite thick. and the weasels in the press ask leading questions then twist whatever is said.

quebec,

The difference between the p!sh those 'journalists' rattle out and the p!sh we spout on here is that we do it for free.

In light of recent events surrounding that particular rag n its employees it is no surprise that flookin anker Leckie was reduced to writing that utter shoite.

Leckie/Traynor/Chick Dung/McLean/Nevin disnae matter they will lap up anything that causes the any type of bother

I must say that I expected better from Nevin. He must be desperate allowing himself to be tainted by association with that mob.

posted on 25/7/11

there was nothing sinister about the coughing, a few wee timothies thought it was quite funny before we knew it quite a lot were doing it, they knew they just couldnt disrepect it again and for quite a lot of them it just wasnt on, why would they respect anyone who isnt one of them therefore it was the next best thing, they could do both, appear respectable whilsr not being repectful, well done leckie on that one

posted on 25/7/11

nevin was also correct, at least he is prepared to try and blow the myth apart, the old "we are not bigots, but they are" claptrap, until we get rid of this nonsense this great little country of ours will continue to suffer

Help for heroes, you need help ya bam.

All the mics were turned on at the Celtic end. But somebody coughed.

I think anybody trying to make points off that is reprehensible.

That would be you.

quebec i need no help, i was there mate, it wasnt them all, just more than there should have been, not a single cough but quite a lot, it was a wind up but still uncalled for, why cant they just stop it, is it too much to ask? it was only leckkie who mentioned it!

lex i didnt say both sides dont have idiots, in fact i agree, but unless we agree that we are different sides to one coin it will continue

people like help for heroes, leckie n other fudites refuse to acknowledge the fact on that particular day the remembrance was respected by all Celtic fans. Yes, it hasnt always been by fans then all fans at some point have let their clubs down. But on that day it was respected and for some perverse reason, SOME DIDNT LIKE IT! we all know why, because they are bigots fudites themselves. Actually there was a link to that game on youtube from the Govan stand. Being quite a poignant occassion and all, as the teams came onto the park led by Mr Greig n McNeill, either the guy videoing it or someone close by decided to urge everyone ever so vocally to " get into thay fen bassas".
Well respected by the Berz eh?
