you may not like the truth, but i said to my mates before it i expected the celtic fans to respect it this time, and the vast majority did, but there are always some in both sides of the supports who cant help themselves, coughing was their only outlet that day, i would love to say it was a perfect silence but i cant lie.

How can it be helpful to the efforts to move Scottish football away from the trouble caused by bias, bigotry and sectarianism which has been agreed by clubs, self serving politicians and equally self serving police when the countrys biggest selling daily rag publishes a misleading headline and makes up quotes on the first weekend of the new season.

In a decent world Celtic would ban the "journalist" and the paper from CP but that would only give them grounds for complaint and an excuse to write more rubbish.

The SFA & SPL should take action against the paper as should Salmond but none of them have the cojones.

Try reading the Herald/Guardian/Scotsman on the same subject.
It's made quite clear that Lennon asked the delegate why the goal was disallowed and made a joke about it at his press conference.

I certainly would wipe my bottom with this rag for fear of contamination.

The paper makes stories up, always has and no doubt always will.

I'm well aware that football stories sell papers but they also have a responsibility to society, especially in the current climate.

U mean that cold day in january when the temp was in the minus numbers, and people were coughing? You ever been to a church service or something with a lot of people when there are silences, perhaps like conference perhaps? There are always people coughing, even in summer when the weather is good. You wanted Celtic fans to break the silence, that would be my guess, and when they didn't you like the rest of the lower orders of your fellow supporters chose to believe the coughing was an organised thing. Lennon urged Celtic to get into the faces of officials.Lennon constantly implies there is an anti-Celtic and pro-Rangers agenda in Scottish football.Lennon rants and raves on the touchline and indulges in wind up displays against rival fans.Lennon brings up his Irish Catholic roots in interviews for the media.Is Lennon possibly creating animosity among Scottish people as even Hibs fans dislike him and that is not for so called sectarian reasons.
I do not believe Lennon or Novo or anyone should be threatened or attacked before the old"justification"cliche is trotted out bhoys.

I don't read the rag, I read the item on the Celtic website as I said in the OP.
I didn't see anything about McCoist so can't comment on that.

I am old enough and educated enough to see through the rubbish that's printed and would ignore it but for the fact that so much publicity is being given to anti-sectarianism at the moment and it's junk like this that will cause some silly, young boys to get into trouble with the authorities.
How does that improve society?

i was at the game and i can assure you there was a very strange amount of coughs coming from the celtic end during the minutes silence, it was disproptionate and i swear that on my two sons lives who i adore with every part of me, i would never say that lightly, i would love to say well done you respected the minutes silence, but you didnt you coughed
