Its cool if we get put out in the last 16 coz we parachute into the Europa League, think its a great idea by Uefa to intoduce this
I want both cups big time aswell, nothing better than Hampden in the sun in May, it does clash with the CL final however
Um, doesn't the world end in a couple of weeks
I would love to think that the nucleus of this team can stay together but I think we will have to reinvent the side and the big players in it within the next 12-18 months....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that was always going to be the case considering that our signing policy is well documented.
However, I don't expect to sell them all on at once- we will sell when players are ready to leave.
Celtic are in for Ryan Fraser
FACT
£75,000 should do the trick, Rued.
another defeat for Aberdeen at the weekend, Mark McGhee to be back before the turn of the year with Diamond

How does that work?
Kelvin Wilson yet again, cost us a goal...
Ambrose was also suspect a few times.
Mulgrew had to cover both, when he blocked Heffernan
TCD.
Glad someone agrees with me about Wilson, as I'm still not totally convinced because he seems to watch the ball too much.
SHort of an Arab Shiek suddenly finding Scotland on the map next year will be the first of Cetlics total domination of Scottish fitba. This year has seen the novelty of new Rangers get a lot of coverage for every reason under the sun bar what is actually happening on the pitch.
During Stein's time it was probebly also Rangers best period considering they also achieved their best ever result during this period.
The Murray years pre Fergus are probebly as close as there has ever existed to what exists now BUT. The gap between Scotland and the rest has widened so far that the tools to recover in the manner Celtic did to not only catch SDM's Rangers is not viable. Take also into account that SDM's Rangers aided our task by inflicting more selfharm upon itself than we ever could have managed ourselves.
Todays Rangers is going to have to achieve such against an opponent that is not only cashed up but has a further 2 year minmum to extend this advantage further before they even begin the chase
The future is bright

Probebly got two or three already mate the lifestyle I have led over the years
Best thing we can hope for is to sell these players for a decent sum and ontp a bigger league. Not only does is benefit us financially but it also raises our profile. More players will want to join us in the hope that they will get a similar move to another league. We also need to keep producing our own good young players. A Watt or a Forrest every season would be great.
Efe tends to drift in and out of games
Nail on the head Chuman. its all part of the sytem we copied of Ajax etc . The reason they attract the raw product is those who come know they will get high quality development but more so exposure to move on to better things
If Fraser can keep his feet on the ground a move to Celtic would really be a stepping stone to move up a few levels to a big club down South like Norwich or Sunderland.
Celtic could pick up £250K for him if their lucky. Either that or they'll ruin him line McSneady, McGinn and Maloney.
Reud you not a bit disappointed that a young lad who has only started and finished 2 games at senior level has knocked your club back for a new contract?
McSneady just wrong on so many fronts
Chuman after all (U14549)

What can you do though? Yes I am but agents fill their heads with nonsense. I can guarantee he will disappear withiout trace.
Personally I would not give the guy another game. Let him stew till he gets his move. I only want players that want to play for the club.
Actually some of the young guys around Scottish fitba just now is impressive. On those outwith Celtic I would like to see the club employ the tactic used down south and in Europe wherein if you buy the player allow him to remain with the selling club if it suits both parties and let the lad continue his development rather than become a bit part might break through or not with us.
Offcourse I guess things like is he getting the sports science, coaching development etc that the buying club wishes come into play.
It can be a win win for all though in the right circumastances. The player gets a wage increase the selling club gets a payday and do not loose someone who by the fact has attracted a bigger club a good prospect at the least and in my particular example Scottish fitba does not only not loose a bright young prospect but he still has the chance to continue why he is even being discussed in real competative football
We have quite a line of good young players coming through. But will they make the step up? Probably not just like for the last 20 years or so. Promise so much and then fail to make the grade
Watched the highlights last night and seen the boy McGinn playing for St Mirren seems to be pretty decent forward thinking CM.
The problem is that if you allow a player to stay at the club they could develop bad habits that otherwise would be ironed out going through our system.
It has to be frustrating Rued. Seems to be a string of good young players have run the clock down on you of late. By rights you could have been in DU's situation where they seem to have got the timing right on when their players have clicked and their contract staus.
Long term the best thing that can happen to Scottush fitba is regional clubs become reliant on home grown for the vast majority of their players and their debt level is such that they can afford some strength in the negotiating position of when to sell is the norm.

And that is all very well and good and i understand why that is the policy but that kinda makes point 1 more pertinent. If the team has to reinvent itself then we really should be looking at what has been achieved by this team as pretty remarkable knowing it could take a few years to get a team settled again if its broken up in the summer...
Club will get money for sure but its a shame that we couldnt try and build on the base success...
