4th. Easily

As an Arsenal fan I'd love to win the FA Cup! But probably not enough to sacrifice CL football

Why is it always an either/or question?

3rd
Winning CL
Winning FA Cup

Trophies breed success and the drive to win more trophies.

Top 4 place only breeds ineptness and the fixation to get more CL booty money.

Trophies, all day long.

Unless is was the Champions League (not freakin' likely ) it has to be fourth spot.

If we dropped out of the top 4 and didn't make it back in next season we would have to slash out wage bill massively, would end up a mid table team.

And, what's wrong with that?

i always remember a few years back. i think it was 2008-09 season aston villa were in the latter stages of the europa league but were 3rd in the league at the time (this was about february ish time) and martin o'neil decided to rest players for a vital game away in russia. eventually they got knocked out and then went on to finish 6th in the league...

Would rather finish 4th. Nothing like the buzz of playing in a champions league game against say Barcelona.

both

Exactly, why should we choose just 1?

4th. I think we are getting closer to being able to spend money and become competitive again. This will be stalled by missing out on CL football.

Top 4 is more important than any of the cups you win in england.

it's a hypothetical question. if you were a manager and one game on the wednesday which could get you into the champions league or a cup final on the saturday and your star player was fully fit enough to play in both games. which one would you play him in.

Both, obviously.

my bad...meant to say was only fit to play in one of the games!

Dropping out of the top four would be such an excuse not to spend as much as we do now. We have to get CL football. Plus, I like mid week football, it's so boring otherwise.

No octogenarian will sit their great grandkids on their knee, and with tears welling up, recall that wonderful year we finished 4th.

Trophies are what you play for.

Well if I reach 80 I won't be telling my Grandchildren about the season we won the FA Cup in 2012. We have far better tales to tell, and I would rather have a long term basis for success than one FA Cup and a period of mid table mediocrity.

4th place IS a trophy

Exactly - many modern football fans are thinking just like owners £££££££

Bill Shankly once said...

Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques

Trophies are what's important - at least for the big clubs anyway

Fa cup is a nail on anyway...so 3/4th
