I know he had faded big time but would have liked to see him bow out after the Pak series. I'm not sure how retiring from one dayers will improve his test form against the good teams but he is a cricket great

tendulkar hasnt played many odis since wc nd also before wc so not a suprise.
i wud argue tho, that if he failed in the odis it wud hv forced him to retire from all forms of the game. i wud rather he plays domestic cricket nd gets his confidence back.
he is undoubtebly the best odi batsmn the world has seen nd wish him he comes back to form in australia series
Shocking time though, has he bottled it? Would have thought the Pakistan series was just perfect for him to gain some confidence and form back. We've hardly got the likes of wasim and waqar anymore. Should have retired after World Cup, if he wanted to bow out before tests
Overall, the Indians have put out a strong squad in both formats. I thought they might have rested a few players after thd test series, and considering they got a busy January, but obviously not.
i hv feeling india will rest a couple of seniors for the odis nd start preparing for tests, so dats y they hv hd a full strength squad
Just saw this from bbc site - maksis comment, so dont shoot the messenger
"Lucky for him he could retire. A decent set of selectors would have sacked him a long time ago.
Now we will have to watch him scratch around and fail whilst getting to 200 tests. India will lose at the same time but hey, surely setting SRT records is the important thing to do.
I feel sorry for their fans who have suffered humiliaton for a long time now whilst this man breaks meaningliss records"
^^ Thats the nicest thing Maski has ever said about India.
Kash, get the match thread up man, Pakistan playing India on Xmas days tells us that both don't give a hoof about Santa and co. although, il be enjoying my Xmas lunch with the cricket on tomorrow.
Most over rated player in the history of cricket
Very good but not has good has made out
Afridi I reckon we get Viru to do one. He's got a 100% losing streak
I'll do one later before Amir re-emerges
