Oneforthebristolcity - i think you are right, I think the delay from Maynards point of view is that he wants to play Premership football and is prehaps holding out to see if any Prem clubs come in for him, which is seemingly unlikely due to the price you guys want for a striker who has never proven himself at that level and with only a year left on his contract.

For me I would just like it resolved because it is dragging on. Either sign a contract at Bristol or come to us and give yourselves time to find a replacement with the money.

If the board and KM were considering a player plus cash for Nicky Maynard I personally think that the club who offered a good CB would get more consideration than someone offering another striker, just my opinion but one I have held since this talk started.

We did score a lot of goals last year . . .

And ten of those came from Yakubu, who isn't with us anymore. The rest of our strikers hardly turned up all season, and we can't keep relying on King.

Also,

It would cheese me off if we let Nicky go, as in the past we have gone season upon season moaning that we don't have a decent striker......we then get one in Nicky.

You need players like him if we are at all interested in progressing to the premiership.....
I'm with Wiz in the sense that we lose a goal scorer of his quality we could well struggle this season.

"And the more we offer the more you "stamp your little feet"

Aww bless, repeating it back is like he is saying it too!

The more you offer, the more stupid I think you are!

Bit of a strange statement little fella!

Based on the assumption that I'm not actually offering anything, when you use the word "you" in your statement it must refer to Leicester City FC. So you thinking Leicester City FC is stupid really isn't going to bother me is it.

Additionally, calling a football club stupid for being able to offer large sums of money simply reeks of envy.

Not envy just worry about what will happen to football clubs when people like Abramovich the Oil money men and assorted American and other rich foreigners decide they have had enough and get rid of their toys there could be a massive financial breakdown as clubs who buy on pay so much up front then the rest over a year suddenly can't make the payments due to smaller clubs, this could cause many clubs to goto the wall.

"Bit of a strange statement little fella"

You still come across as a d-head even when you're being patronising.
